I was for a short while. But was a longtime Tidesports lurker and poster. TS had the best posters.

Yeah, Tidesports was my jam. First encounter with a sports message board. I'm pretty sure Dd posts on here, too.

As many have alluded, the "ditto I'm gone" from ed was on Tidesports, as was dd4bama's downer persona. Woollyal was one of the landing spots after Tidesports went behind a paywall. I think CrimsonRedSports also popped up about that time as well.

And yes, we all remember Tidesports fondly. It was a great mix of allowing posters freedom while not overmoderating, and was a huge community. This Board is as close to what tidesports was as your going to find.

And I'm sure the folks in charge over there kick themselves for ever deciding to go behind that paywall. It basically destroyed the site and community.

Ed and DD were TideSports. But yes, I was and still am on WoollyAL. Moved there during the great migration in 2011 when TideSports suddenly sold out to Rivals.

Me too. I think I got involved when Shula was let go. I was interested in every speck of info I could find. It did not disappoint.

"TideSprots" was the first board for me too. Then Woolly its first couple years. I got a free ride on the TS paysite for a while too, for being a mod. I also designed and established the initial Woolly recruiting board and then maintained it for a while. It was a pretty cool design, but a ton of work to set up and maintain.

This is the only Alabama forum I visit or have ever visited. I use to visit a general college football forum, but then it changed owners and went to shite.

Before then I just read blogs/articles.

I started on tidesports after Shula was fired and followed the coaching search there. Followed the planes, Rich Rod, and all the drama on there. It got me hooked to the Bama message board stuff. I did a lot of "racked out" threads that I believe started the dynasty.

And it's ed, always lowercase, he's a legend.

Damn Woollyal is still going? I remember the in-game thread for the 2011 GOTC. It was a pure civil war.
