Tim is a good dude and I hope the best for him. But it's a sideshow, and that's what it will be come training camp time. And I think it kind of undermines what Urban Meyer is trying to build.

Not comments I would have made. Greg didn't exactly set the NFL on fire.

I think it's a good marketing move by Jacksonville if nothing else. And it's a business... they'll sell more tickets and Tebow jerseys. If he's detrimental to the team, he'll be cut. The "hot takes" from the talking heads are laughable...since all of THEM got their jobs because of connections and who they know.

What is really amazing is that a pandering, lying, and phony asshat like Pinnochio can make even a lebron james seem genuine.

That is FAR from a slam. It's just fact. Unpleasant to hear, maybe, but it's honest.

I'd love to see Tebow make the Jags roster, but the reality is that is an extreme long shot.

I'm not a big fan of Tebow or McElroy.

I don't dislike Tebow. I think he's a great guy and college football player. I just don't like when people promote their politics, religion, etc., during sporting events, whether I agree with them or not. I just think there's a more appropriate time and place for all that stuff.

As for McElroy, I don't dislike him either. He just seems to have a little bit of an inflated opinion of himself, kinda like McCarron. They both had big moments but also benefited a lot from playing with players who were much better than they were.

All that said, I do agree with McElroy. I might not have stated it the same way, though.

Not saying it'll work, but Tebow didn't want to play anything but QB then and it showed. He sucked as a upback on punts and he backed out at the 11th hour on starting for the Jets as a RB due to massive injuries.

Probably a little late at 33, but he might could've salvaged something out of his NFL career if he would've dropped his insistence on being just a QB.

Joe Webb has stuck around for 10 years in the NFL playing QB, WR, and a lot of special teams...

If Urban wants to give this guy a shot, that's Urban's business. If Khan has a problem with it, he'll let Urban know.

McElroy is just trying to enhance his brand here by being controversial like all of the talking heads do.

The Jags are a shitty team with shitty players. Maybe he can stick for a year or two. At least he is a winner and a leader, unlike the majority of that roster.

since when is a sports commentator giving a straight-up, no bullshite(and absolutely correct) opinion on sports controversial, and brand enhancing?

Tebow literally worked (and will go back to working) with ESPN, SEC Network and McElroy.

Who do you think pays Tebow's bills? ESPN operates SEC Network. Tebow is an ESPN employee.

This has nothing to do with what I said. ESPN commentators, excluding Tebow himself of course) hate Tebow coming back and McElroy works for ESPN. It is a pretty simple point. Now you can disagree with the merits of it, but that is a different thing altogether

Upvoted OP for the sweet mems of Timmy T crying.

Regarding the topic - nothing Greg said was wrong and his take was completely football related. What more could anyone ask for?

Unless you're a rage addict looking for his/her next hit and sweet release...

One thing’s for sure, it was a great stoke of marketing. Merchandise sales are already booming.

Greg was also a 7th round pick that was smart enough to know his place in football was in the booth and not on the field, unlike someone that always had terrible mechanics and refused to change positions, tried to play professional baseball when he hadn't played since high school (and signed with a team from the largest media market to boot), and is now finally willing to change positions at the age of 33 after not playing football for years.

This is true. Pawl learned a year or so back when he made some comments and he walked them back in less than 24. You will kiss the azz of those that own the microphone or you will be gone.

Time has apparently not quelled Tim Tebow's popularity. Known as "Tebow mania" during his short-lived run with the Broncos, Tebow's recent signing with the Jaguars has created a similar buzz, as the 33-year-old former quarterback looks to make Jacksonville's 53-man roster as a tight end.

How popular is Tebow? Roughly 24 hours after his signing was official, Tebow had the top five selling items on NFLShop.com, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Tebow, who wore No. 15 at Florida and during his time as an NFL quarterback, is wearing No. 85 for the Jaguars (at least for now, as that could change).
