I keep hearing this is a good matchup for Alabama. It’s really not.
Bama has the D to maybe hold around 25-30. As always it is about Bama’s crap offense - Indiana is much better defensively than you think - top 5 nationally (look how they handled Oregon and Ohio State).

The national media can hype up Indiana all they want but at the end of the day we are the more talented team by far. Our 4 and 5 star athletes will make plays their 3 stars can’t and we will win comfortably.

They played Oregon and Ohio State already and won. That logic kind of falls apart.

I don't know that they score more than 20 on us. All WE need is one more point than them. We've got this!!!

My concern is defensive Holding and PI calls because Indiana is the media darling and Mendoza is gonna get the benefit of the doubt on a few key plays

Well shite, I guess that explains why they lost to Oregon and Ohio State this year.

The luck runs out eventually for these types of teams. See TCU, who beat Michigan, OU and Texas. I think Bama wins 28-10 with some game changing plays from Bernard and Horton.

I don't think Indiana has won by luck. They are hard to score on and their QB plays well in the clutch.
A team that could get Indiana out of their comfort zone is what is required and I'm not sure we really have that style or roster.
This is a game between two rosters that want to shorten the ball game to minimize the number of times you get to take a crack at their defense mixing up coverages.
We're essentially going to be playing right into their hands, so if we aren't hyper efficient on offense then we're going to be in a butthole-clencher. If we are inefficient on offense, we'll lose the game.

Couldn’t agree more. They “play to a standard.” Fun to watch if you’re not on the receiving end.

I’m very confident about this game even though I do think Indiana is a quality team, they’re not just lucky they’re good. But when you get to the second round of the playoffs you’re supposed to be good.

Indiana is a team that makes you pay for your mistakes. Ty has to play high level football and some of the young pass rushers need to get after it

I’m guessing reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit. I never said Indiana isn’t a good team, they are. I’m saying I’m surprised how many of these “experts” (sarcasm) are acting like Indiana is unbeatable, because they’re not.

Notre Dame was not favored in 2012, but they were ranked number 1. The should have lost 3 or 4 games that year. They literally stole two games in South Bend. They were winning with smoke and mirrors and refs. The polls ignored this. Hell during the poll era they would have been national champs.

Wish we had that offense

ND and how they were favored to beat Alabama?
They were not. Bama was a big favorite. Like 10pts. Pretty much everyone knew Bama was going to win. I can find you multiple predictions calling for Bama to win. The only thing was most people didn’t expect it to be that large of a blowout
Also that 2012 Bama team was arguably Saban’s most complete team

I don't think their stats against half their schedule tell us a lot as it equates to them vs Alabama other than they are extremely consistent. But rolling up 50 on UCLA tells me very little. Going into Eugene and winning by 10 and beating Ohio State in their championship game tells me a lot. You don't fake those 2 wins. They are legit. Now, they aren't super power unbeatable or anything, but they aren't going to screw around and beat themselves. We have to match their execution for 60 minutes.
I believe the game will come down to very few things. Special teams play, turnovers, defensive front pressure. If we can win those battles I like our chances. Just cant make any stupid mistake. If we have zero turnovers and they have at least one I really like our chances

I believe Okie's defense is better than Indiana's and Bama scored 34 points on them. Bama's defense will be one of the best that Indiana has faced. Indiana is a solid team but Bama can beat them if they keep penalties low and do not turn the ball over.

There's more to football than just talent obviously, and one thing that can combat talent is experience
Indiana is an old team. More positions than not are manned by a 4th year, and many positions are 5th years. I do think this is a huge reason why they’ve been able to match more talented teams, but even then they’re not dominating these teams so much as taking advantages of mistakes made by youthful/talented teams while minimizing their own. The Oregon and Ohio St games were close, but that Penn St game showed that even a coach less team with superior talent could stress them and put them in a situation where a miraculous/lucky play is needed to win
Minimizing our own mistakes is the biggest point of emphasis here. We’ll be the most talented roster they’ve played all year, and we are having young players step up at the right time.
I’m really looking forward to the match up

It really is an amazing job that Cig has done with IU. The supposed talent discrepancy between them and the big boys like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon is cavernous. According to the 247 team talent composite, Indiana is ranked 72 in the nation in terms of recruiting talent. Georgia is 1, Alabama is 2, Ohio State 3 and Oregon 5.
