Not everyone who is done with football becomes some bum or goes to sell insurance. Many use their education and connection while they played to build a pretty damn amazing future
At times how you guys refer to these people it's like you hate watch them.

I agree, I have an ex teammate who sell insurance and does very well. It's just stated in a derogatory tone and why is that... where is that from?
It's not everyone but there are a section of fans who like to make it seem like all athletes are dummies who would be homeless without their sport and while that goes for some it doesn't go for all. Some of us are doing just fine.

There will be a lot less of those stories with the current system. These kids barely even go to school.

Dude was one of the twitchiest DL we have on the roster imo. Good blend of size/power and athleticism. Very high motor too. He started getting real reps during games late in the season his freshman year, and looked like a hoss vs. Michigan in the bowl game.
Definitely a rotational piece to start this year given he was coming off injury, but I’d wager that he would have ended up starting at some point this year. Regardless of what could have been, losing bodies up front is not good.

Nice to see Metz stepping up. I think they will rotate at least 3 ILBs the way they did last year with Lawson/NHG/Jefferson.
Reese should still get some good PT. Quick undersized LBs like him can sometimes wreck a teams game plan. Im gonna view him kinda like a 6th man on a basketball team. He's a guy coaches will expect to come in the game and make a play.

Metz taking it is a good sign imo. Means that he had to take it from the favorite so he definitely impressed.

We're definitely going to be more stout on defense than last year.
Woodson is 240 and Metz is 235.
Lawson was 225 and Jefferson was 215 last year.

I think if we can find a secondary pass rusher to Pierre the defense should really be a lot better than what was a decent unit last year. Should be stronger against the run just from a front 7 size standpoint, and the secondary should be better.
Hopefully Hill can take that step. "Pass rusher" is quietly the thinnest position group on the team in my opinion. Pierre got knicked up a bit last year too. Maybe Griffin will see some time situationally here

Ideally it will be Thompkins. If he can be a threat from the bandit or 3-tech, that allows us to keep more size on the field while still having a lot of juice in the pass rush.
