He needs to continue to grow, win the Heisman and a national championship then go be the first pick in the draft.

The only reason I think he might is because he lobbied Bernard to come back. Would be hard to pass up a first round pick though.

Not to mention handing off the reigns to Russell instead of watching him transfer

Simpson is a sure thing. I will take another year with a proven commodity over giving Russell the reign's when I don't know for sure how good he will be. No matter what he would be a drop off next year from what Simpson is doing this year.

I think Russell will be a stud but it will take him a year or two to get there.

He is gone. And it concerns me because we can’t get enough separation in SEC games for the other guys to get any game time. Ty is an exception to the rule, as he didn’t get many game snaps. He did, however, get a lot of practice snaps over his three years.

I would normally say no chance, but this guy's a little bit different.

His idol is Tim Tebow, who returned for his senior year.

Making millions in NIL deals if he returns doesn't hurt either. He would be the face of college football next season. He'd get tons of TV commercial opportunities.

Feel like he's coming back. He waited a long time for what he's doing. He'll get NIL plus his family is probably fine from his dad coaching all these years even at UT-Martin.

I’d still like to see some deep balls from Ty.

But it’s probably Russell time next year. I hope he progresses to that status. If so, we’ll have a stud for 2-3 years.

He was not who he is now. Some of it was Ty. Some of it was coaching. This staff has made a big difference with him. Saban/Rees is not on par with DeBoer/Grubb&Sheridan as far as QB development.

Look at the improvement with Ty from the FSU game till now. He was not the reason Alabama lost but he did not play well and came unraveled the 2nd half of the 4th qtr. He made multiple bad decisions on whether to run or pass and who to throw to. And he was late on many throws.

CKD.said after the game that Ty needed to trust his read and let it rip. That’s why he was late. It was understandable since it was his first game, vs a decent opponent, in their stadium. But he did not respond well. But then he had two gimmes at home to clean things up.

He was 3rd string going into the ‘23 season behind Buckner. He was a 59% passer in his 2 years of mop up duty, throwing multiple long balls up for grabs. Nothing to indicate what he might become under the tutelage of someone like DeBoer and staff.

In ‘23 Milroe was 2nd team AP All SEC QB, SEC title game winner and game MVP, led the team to OT vs eventual NCs in semifinals. He was a serious Heisman candidate entering the ‘24 season and lived up to those expectations til the UT game.

Yes, he had glaring and serious traditional QB faults, along with his great speed and powerful arm, but seemed to be improving. Practice observers and CNS have said Ty was immature and tried to match Milroe’s strengths which he could not do.

Now Ty is doing a great job and is a worthy Heisman front runner and likely first round pick, all wonderful developments, but let’s not revise history, especially based on the unknowable, especially when the indications are otherwise.

Barring a total collapse, he’s a first round pick. The guy has his degree and is guaranteed a lot of $$$$. CNS always told kids who are first round picks to leave. I agree.

I hope he goes to the Saints. God knows they desperately need a QB. Hell, they need everything. LOL

I have no idea what I would do but I support the players whether they go or stay. If he is a first round pick he should probably go unless he has reasons other than money to stay.

One thing that is often overlooked is that when you are drafted your 4 or 5 clock starts toward your second contract when your real money begins, assuming you’ve had success. So, you add another year of big time money to your career for every year early you come out.

This is just my opinion, but from making his odds of succeeding in the NFL a lot better. He'd be best to come back, get another full year of starting under his belt then go. The more snaps a QB has in college is an indicator of future success in the NFL. Is it sure fire? No, but statistics have shown that quarterbacks with a lot of reps in college have a higher success rate in the NFL. I hope he comes back. If Russell leaves, he leaves. We're getting top QB recruits committing almost weekly now. DeBoer and Grubb have put our offense on the national map for HS quarterbacks. They WANT TO COME HERE!
