Georgia: Will Muschamp and Glenn Schumann will serve as co-defensive coordinators for Georgia during postseason preparations. Outgoing coordinator Dan Lanning will coach for the Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff

Oklahoma: Former Troy defensive coordinator Brandon Hall is joining Brent Venables' staff as an assistant coach at Oklahoma, sources tell Football Scoop. Hall served three seasons as Troy's defensive coordinator and was the interim head coach when Chip Lindsey was fired near the end of the regular season. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor's and master's degree, and was on the Sooners' staff in a variety of roles as a student assistant and quality control coach from 1998 through 2005.

Troy: Jon Sumrall is keeping assistants Al Pogue, Bam Hardmon and Gary Banks on his staff, a source tells 247Sports.

Penn State: Former Miami coach Manny Diaz has been hired as Penn State's defensive coordinator. He replaces Brent Pry, who recently was hired as Virginia Tech's head coach.

Duke: Texas A&M defensive coordinator Mike Elko has officially been introduced as head coach at Duke.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart said defensive coordinator Dan Lanning, hired as Oregon’s coach, will coach in @CFBPlayoff. Also Georgia “will move forward” w/Glenn Schumann & Will Muschamp as co-defensive coordinators

Would love him AND Pruitt to find their way back to Bama. But, that is not going to happen. Just a pleasant thought

I find it hard to believe they will make it to the start of next season with Muschamps and Schumann intact but we will see.

USC: Donte Williams is expected to remain on Lincoln Riley's staff at USC, reports 247Sports' USCFootball.com, although that role has not yet been decided and it might be in an off-the-field job. Williams served as the Trojans' interim head coach in 2020 after Clay Helton was fired. He previously coached the defensive backs.

SMU: Former USC safeties coach Craig Naivar has been hired as SMU's safeties coach and special teams coordinator, a person familiar with the decision tells 247Sports. The coaching veteran has strong connections in Texas after previous stints at Texas, Houston, Texas State, Rice and Sam Houston State since 2000.

Oregon: Newly-hired Oregon coach Dan Lanning is targeting Florida State's Kenny Dillingham as his offensive coordinator, reports Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports. Lanning and Dillingham worked together at Memphis.

That's either going to be a home run or a complete disaster. He only has 3 years of coaching experience and has never called plays.

Agreed. I also saw that Harsin had pushed really hard to get the Oregon job and wanted to get back out west.

Apparently, he and Kiffin both wanted it and were turned down. With all the news that floats around because of agents, who really knows.

It feels like one of those hires that sound good in theory, but turn out to have middling results and the fanbase wants them gone in 2-3 years because they aren't a top end coordinator.
