QB Faizon Brandon

Not sure he will hold onto that ranking throughout the season or his senior year. I have no idea how he did in camps or QB competition but HS will be rough the next 2 seasons.

Over 70% of both receiving yards and receiving TDs were to 2 seniors now gone. One going to UNC and the other to NC State. And who really carried the team is their RB had over 2000 yards last year and 42 TDs. He was the guy in the big games and will be this year for them as a senior. Over 60% of their offense came from their rushing attack

They also play in one of the weaker conferences in the state

Probably just the nature of having multiple commits in a class that far away haha

Southside High School

I went K-4 at Southside Elementary. Grew up in Selmont. 40 years ago it wasn't a bad place to grow up believe it or not. I wouldn't even drive through there today during the day time.

Grew up in Selma but lived in Selmont for a while. Southside high for 1 year in 7th grade. A little over 40 years ago. Some family still lives in Selma and it’s all a complete shithole.

I remember a job promotion came up 20 years ago in my agency for Selma. I knew little about the area. At the time, my daughter was going to be a HS freshman and I did some research on the local high schools. Whew Mama. They were TERRIBLE even back then. Obviously passed on Selma.

Our offer letters are fancy cards that play Dixie Land Delight.

Pretty slick looking, though.

Jared Smith to Auburn.

Anyone else find it odd we had two different staffs pass on a local 5-star DE?

I could understand it if just Saban passed, but both of them?

ETA: Just looked for some highlights on him and there is nothing from his Junior year on Hudl. Zilch.

Odd.

I know that the staff started already behind when it comes to recruiting but I think they're still exceeding expectations overall. It seems like the staff places a premium on relationships so I hope that they develop some good relationships with the instate '26 and '27 kids. It seems like that's what they're doing.

There are some here. They say hudl, but like you said, his actual hudl account has nothing.

ETA: Also, Tuscaloosa, tell the BOL crowd to lay off of you. Those dudes are relentless.

Reading the 247 info, sounds like he's got potential but is very raw. One or two years away from any meaningful playing time. Hopefully Auburn invest the needed time and patience with the kid.

I think instate this year is all about Bama getting their sea legs while Aurburn has been able be more consistent with their message from the same people. I'm hopeful Bama can get in with the 2026 and 2017 kids better since the staff will have more time to build those necessary relationships.

Bama needs to get some pledges on the D Line, but thus class is pretty good so far. Still a Cold Summer

It's all about NIL these days. The staff doesn't need to build relationships with players, those days are over. Just have to pay more than Auburn.

If Auburn is dominating instate, then it is clear that Bama's NIL money is going to out of state players.

BOL is horrible. I got a month ban for getting into it with one of their crew members.

Wanted no part of that guy. Bailed on his high school teammates midway through last season to go to an area rival. Told me a lot about his character and that of his parents. Better to avoid that headache.

After watching these highlights, I’m not gonna lose any sleep over him going elsewhere

His commitment looks nice for the rankings but his status must be based off his measurables and potential. That film was very underwhelming for a high 4 star edge
