Funny yes, better fit, ehhh...Dabo for all intents is a cheerleader on the sidelines and with all the high/low emotions of one...he doesn't play the portal game and his track record has steadily declined since skeletor took the OU job...he could probably get them 7-8 wins a year which would definitely be a improvement.
Quite possibly so, but i have seen him out and about on Lake Martin a few times these past 2 years...if he ever stops by Big Beach, anything is possible ??

Unfortunately this trend started with Saban and has went quickly downhill with Debeor. I posted in the recruiting thread how Saban last couple of classes were weak on DE/DT types and it got glossed over...with Wommack recruiting a dozen linebackers last year, the next 2 years will be really BAD!!
They just announced last week, the closing of the last facility of Russell Athletic in Alex City, where it all started...NAFTA started it’s downfall, Fruit of the Loom buying them in the mid 2000's finished them off.
TO was a scrawny tall kid with potential in hs...scheme wasn't exactly receiver friendly then...his hs qb went to AU, never played a down...he grew into his height and blossomed at UTC
Offensive lineman back in the late 80s went to Bama, never done anything...been 4 players that went to AU since the 90', 3 fizzled out, 1 currently a rotation receiver his freshman year...BR has never really produced much D1 talent
Ehh, a little farther than that, but to close for comfort...lot of AU boosters in the area, but one nice Bama booster and he draws up the NIL deals for the basketball recruits.

He's a Bama fan/family, BUT his best friend is Malcolm Simmons at AU, and BRHS is a AU school for the most part...wouldn't surprise me if he commits to Bama, but it will be a fight till signing day to hold on to him.
Cederian would be a pull...was/is a Bama fan, but his best friend currently plays for the Barn at wr and he goes to a hs with a lot of Barn influence.

Gonna be hard pull to get from the barn...a former team mate/slash bf is one of the fab 3 for AU...he grew up a Bama fan, but don't think it will help in this case.
Both lines will be a total rebuild next, same for the linebacker group...need 2-3 DT, and 2 good tackles in the 26 class at the minimum.
Pretty sure other than a potential portal player from ND/tOSU, Bama is done recruiting for this cycle...the OL prospect that didn't sign early was the only potential Feb signee and he's chasing the biggest bag..other than RW last year, Bama hasn't signed a prospect in the late period in a couple years. Coaches not being hired/fired because of the February signing period is foolishness.
They did go after what Saban thought were better options, the quarterbacks at NC and Miami, both turned him down and parlayed Nick's offer into a better deal with their respective teams...just goes to show that the Saban/Bama mystic doesn't always overcome the almighty $$$.
Really, I will say the fishing is much better at Guntersville if that's your cup of tea, but Martin is far better in every other way.
Gmac just built a house (1 mil +) in the Willows about 2 years, only Bama alum i know...The Ridge area of lake martin is Boog headquarters, 4 ex coaches have houses their
Speaking of exhausted/tired ex AU coaches, guessing Malzahan didn't sell his lake house when he went to UCF...he was at the lake for Christmas and was taking pics at the local bowling alley this past Friday night....something about Lake Martin definitely attracts Barn coaches.
