So why do you like him?

Because our offense put us in position to be 11-1 this year if the defense could stop Tennessee at all. And even if we had lost to Georgia we probably sneak into the playoffs

At the very least, our offense typically scored under BoB when it had to. The opposite could not be said about Golding’s D

And would have won a championship without WR injuries the year before. But the geniuses here say he sucks and he says it over and over and over again, and tells you that he said it in the past, too. Really smart guy.

I remember early in the Auburn game we actually used jet motion a few times and threw to the guy in the flat and I was shocked.

We did it with Gibbs multiple times on the opening drive at Texas, too. And - shocker - it worked.

But it "had to" so many times because of BoB's play calling throughout the game. There were so many games the last two years where we easily could have and should have buried a team but the offense would stall for multiple drives. So the opponent would chip away and get back within a score, and we had to score to win the game, which was mostly just Bryce being a wizard.

BoB's offense didn't score when it needed to, Bryce Young's offense did.

Because there weren’t any. His passing offense was/is dependent on guys being able to get themselves open consistently. We lacked receivers who could do that. That’s when you need an OC who can scheme guys open or take advantage of weaknesses in a defense. BoB wasn’t an OC who could do that.

One of the major issues that people rarely bring up is that a lot of BoB's passing concepts had option routes where a WR/TE and the QB need to read the defense after the ball is snapped and decide if they should, for example, run a dig route across the middle or an out route towards the sideline.

How many times in the past two years did we see multiple WRs/TEs operating in the same space? Quite often that was because WRs/TEs were incorrectly reading defenses and running the wrong routes.

I don't necessarily blame the players, since we had a lot of young guys at WR and TE, but BoB should have minimized the number of option routes he was asking our guys to run when it became clear that they were not consistently making the right reads.

Bryce Young rescued BoB over and over and over again. I think O'Brien used to be a decent coordinator, but his work last year was subpar. I swear at least half of Alabama's explosive plays last year were pure heroics and magic from Bryce Young, and to a lesser extent Gibbs, off busted plays. BoB game plans were lackluster, his play-calling was unimaginative and predictable, he rarely found a way to exploit matchups, he basically refused to use any motion or formations to confuse and move the defense. I don't know if he mailed it in, the game passed him by, he mistakenly thought keeping it simple for Bryce and Gibbs to just out talent people would be enough, or some combination of the 3, but he did not do nearly enough to give Bama's offense a competitive edge last year.

I think Haynes will go down as one of the better running backs in the Saban era when it is all said and done. Kid is special.

Haynes and Miller should get more carries than the rest of them. Jase is a really good third down back but he's no bellcow.

I agree. Jase runs with a lot of heart and passion and he can break one like he did against Texas but he's not a guy I feel that can carry 30-40 times a game against teams like Auburn, LSU, UGA etc. And if we're really committing back to the run like I think Saban wants us to then someone has to carry a load like that as the starter and then other guys will come in to keep the defenses worn out.
