finally watched the spring game on youtube. not sure why all the freak out about QBs. Milroe still looks like Milroe, more of a runner than a passer but capable of a pretty ball. Simpson looked to be the better of the 2 to me, he threw about 8 passes that hit guys in the hands and they either straight up dropped or the defender made an excellent effort for a pass breakup.
Of the younger 2 Longeran looks like a baller slinging it around, Holstein was hard to tell didnt ever have much of a chance.
To me it kinda looked like almost every spring we ever had, you cant tell shite about the QBs from that. 80% of the offense isnt even installed.
Dont know about this Buchner guy, looks like hes had ups and downs at ND, but he definitely would have the most real world experience so maybe that gives him an edge. I kinda think its going to be simpson. hes a better passer than Milroe and its also very dangerous on the ground. Not so much a home run threat but a 'pick up a firt down when everthing is covered' kind of guy which in a way is better, demoralizes and tires out the defense and keeps our offense on the field.
well those are my 2 cents. i think we are going to be fine, probably just spoiled by tua, mac, and bryce in a row. Georgia just won 2 back to back championships with a bum like stetson bennett, because 1 their schedule was favorable and they lucked out in their playoff opponents, 2 because they played solid low mistake defense, 3 their offense was well coached and disciplined (and they had a TE who catches literally anything thrown his way). Im at least pretty sure the defense is going to look vastly improved from what we saw the last several years. Will be playing fast and the guys will know what the friggin call is when the ball is snapped. talent level should do the rest

Deserves????? How does he deserve another chance? Deserve and entitled are words that are used very liberal now a days. He doesn't deserve another chance. He may be GIVEN another chance. He deserves to be penalized for what he did. Breaking the law. JMO

Lol y’all crack me up in here. Y’all are okay saying that Buchner was added for depth as long as you think it was to back up Ty.
If it was to back up Milroe then y’all will lose it.

Father2sons is a broken record.

That's for Saban to decide.

Comments like this is why you’re considered a shite stirrer. Most Bama supporters will support whoever the QB wins the job. Some may not have confidence with a certain QB abilities and may raise hell during a game if he’s playing poorly. But only because we expect greatness and want to see them be successful.
The only reason some doubt Milroe is because he’s played poorly when his opportunity was there to shine and he didn’t. He lacks confidence mainly and it shows.
Hurts played poorly at times, but the difference in Hurts was he had the confidence and mentality to overcome his poor play. We respect that as fans
Milroe will have his chance and if he wants to be the starter he’ll have to take it. But he’s got prove it first when it matters.

It’s 1 of the three and I think the arrival of Buchner creates a next level competitive spirit.
If I had to chose someone right now to start it would be Buchner. I can’t explain it, I just think he could be a good player.

Someone pointed out that in the Scar game buchner’s first pick-6 was a tipped ball. The second his receiver was held badly.
One pick on the spring game he was hit as he threw.
However I will note that the guy tries to make some plays he can’t at times and can get into trouble.

You should go watch the highlights, I think you will understand what I see.
Yes first pick was tipped and second the receiver had the ball in his hands and the DB took it from him.
Honestly those two really aren’t on him.
I could be totally wrong I just see potential in him.

I dunno why you're getting downvoted so badly. Buckner has shown more accessible potential than the other 2 at this point in time. Milroe has a vast ceiling, in the same vein as Anthony Richardson, but he's a worse QB than every starter under Saban but 09 McElroy right now...by a good bit.

I’ve watched about all of them.
At first blush one is horrified. Upon closer look one can see some mitigating factors.
I do wonder, though, why he is so susceptible to the bad breaks? Is it just bad luck that will even out or is it something else?
He’s athletic for sure. He can make some throws, but seems a bit inconsistent.
He perhaps tries to do too much at times and gets himself in trouble.

People keep saying this but it has yet to bear fruit in recruiting. So why do they keep saying it?
Sounds like a bunch of haters trying to speak something into existence.

NIL was instituted in summer 2021. Alabama has signed a #2 and #1 class since then. And is off to great starts for 2024 and 2025. It just seems ridiculous to keep predicting NIL will make Alabama falter.

McElroy made the Jets roster, don't think Coker or Sims made NFL rosters?
