Only Henry did that. Extremely few backs are built like him

Exactly. So why would we try to load up a ton of carries to a guy who isn't built for it? We've always used multiple backs. Saban has always used multiple backs. It's just a matter of how do we split the pie. Of course, pass blocking will be a huge factor in which RB is on the field. I don't recall any of the RBs last year being exceptional at pass pro. But I know we had some frick ups that led to the QB getting smashed.

Jase is one of the smartest backs Bama has had in years. I would always want him getting the ball at crunch time.
He has the smarts of a Shaun Alexander.

What do you mean by that? Like blocking assignments and route running? Like, they say McCaffrey is a smart RB, and i can see that because he does a lot of different stuff schematicly. But I just remember Shaun A running into the end zone over and over and over.
He's got great vision and sense for making a guy miss. But i don't know what his GPA is.
James White is another guy I think of as a smart RB bc during his time with the Patriots he was constantly adjusting to what Brady was doing and either picking up a blocker or slipping out into open space. He was super bowl MVP doing that, and he's not a guy who is physically above his peers. I don't know if Jase is that kind of player yet, but I could see him being a lot closer to that type of player than a bell cow/bruiser RB.

He's not a 2024 new recruit; an has been in college football since 2019. Should he be considered a recruit or is he a collegiate player transferring to another college?

Transfers are part of recruiting nowadays.

Tony Mitchell might be back after all. According to his lawyer.

Lawyer: Alabama’s Tony Mitchell nearing legal resolution as he eyes football return
quote:
Mitchell’s attorney Waylon Graham and father Tony Mitchell Sr. told AL.com they are close to a legal resolution with prosecutors. The new development opens a window into Mitchell’s return to Alabama football through UA’s counseling program.
“Tony is very, very sorrowful for what happened,” Graham said in a phone interview. “... We believe this case is rapidly coming to a conclusion.”
quote:
According to Graham, Mitchell may be eligible for a withhold of adjudication. This would allow prosecutors to charge Mitchell with a felony without technically convicting him of the crime. For first-time offenders in Florida, like Mitchell, a judge can sentence them straight into a probation program under this statute.
