Wow, I hope all of that fires up Simpson and Milroe, as if they needed any encouragement. I think whoever separates themselves enough to be named the starter in week 1 will keep the job, barring an absolute meltdown.

Yep, had the talent and body type at TE to be a 1st round pick. Too bad he lacked a great deal in other areas.

Look I was pulling for Milroe. Seems like they wanted to make him the guy. Seems like a great kid always see him doing community activities and things. That being said he not a great QB.

He was throwing gang signs in the season opener 2 years ago.

So he's dumb AND lazy? No wonder he was "advised" to leave Tuscaloosa after the NC game.

What exactly does Buchner do better than Milroe? Protect the ball? No.

Key has already visited. And named Alabama among his finalists.

Pursing another guy

LINK

After hosting UAB safety Jaylen Key on a visit last week, Alabama is pursuing a second defensive back in the NCAA transfer portal.

Louisiana cornerback Trenayvian “Trey” Amos announced Monday evening he had entered the the NCAA transfer portal, and tweeted less than an hour later that he he had received a scholarship offer from Alabama.

Amos has since reported offers from Florida, Miami, Michigan State, LSU, Ole Miss, Illinois, Auburn and Oregon. A senior this fall, Amos has two seasons of eligibility remaining because of the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for his freshman 2020 season.

Alabama has a need in its secondary after losing a pair of cornerbacks, Jahquez Robinson and Trequon Fegans, to the transfer portal during the April 15-30 window for undergraduates to enter it. The status of freshman defensive back Tony Mitchell is also uncertain as he faces a felony marijuana charge that resulted in his indefinite suspension in March.

Breakdown of roster #
LINK

Those can still trickle in, but as things stand, the Crimson Tide had three players choose to transfer before the spring ended in tight end Elijah Brown and defensive backs Jahquez Robinson and Tre’Quon Fegans.

That left Alabama at one player over the NCAA limit of 85 scholarship players, but after the A-Day Game, the Tide added Notre Dame quarterback Tyler Buchner to the quarterback battle and is actively recruiting defensive backs like Jaylen Key of UAB and Trey Amos of Louisiana to add secondary depth.

I'm really curious to see how these roster #s work themselves out. I guess it's possible that some guys may graduate in May and still be eligible to transfer as grad transfers even though the portal closed.

Read defenses and not hold on the ball to long. I havent watched a full game only highlights. He may not be great as well but if the offensive coordinator brings you in who has already coached you he obviously sees something in you.

But I was told Saban doesn't take transfers for depth. Kool-Aid, Arnold, and Co. must not be cutting it. The state of the cornerback room must be pretty dismal to have to take transfers from UAB and Louisiana.

I realize you are being sarcastic but if there are injuries at corner or safety, they are in trouble. Depth is not great with Robinson and Fegans transferring out and who knows what will happen with Tony Mitchell.

Hopefully Mitchell isn't allowed back. 140 miles an hour because someone tells you to "punch it" isn't exactly the best trait in a player. Not even mentioning the dope, scales and gun.
