The 4-for-4 series he had with MB should not even be considered when evaluating his day. If you go back and watch that series, he locked in on MB when they lined up for the first play and never looked at another WR.

Milroe wasn’t even getting to his second read half the time and was getting locked up mentally by basic safety blitzes.

He’s so far away from being ready to face a Kirby Smart defense in a loud environment I don’t even know where to begin. He’s Jalen Hurts before Jalen took the year off to relearn how to play QB under Enos and finished his education at OU.

Jalen Hurts got there, not convinced Jalen Milroe has time to get to where he needs to be to run the Bama offense by Texas

As far as the WR play goes there are a couple guys I wouldn’t mind seeing hit the portal and I’ll just leave it at that.

Caleb Downs looked fantastic on the flip side of that. He looks like a third year player. Might be a better overall player than Kool Aid.

I'd add Earl Little Jr and Dez Ricks look big-time as well.

Lonergan should be in the mix for the QB1 job, imo.

Whoever gives us the best chance to win but damn would that QB room clear out with the quickness.

Portal windows are only open in winter and May.

Cant not play the best guy because we’re scared of who will hit the portal.

I’ve been a big Lonergan fan ever since he committed. He has all the tools and just looks like a natural. Hurts came out of nowhere as a freshman as well. Maybe Lonergan does the same.

Dezz Ricks is a terrific player. He’s young but the talent is evident. Will be an absolute stud with time in the program. I won’t be surprised to see him play more as the season progresses like Kool Aid in 2021.

Does anyone have the official count of how many sacks Jalen took?

Pretty sure it was 8.

I agree but it’s still so ridiculous how people melt down after a glorified scrimmage where things are scripted and very little of the play book is shown. Happens every year and it gets more ridiculous every time.

My take...

I personally don't think Dylan is better than Ty but what I saw was a guy (Dylan) who played relaxed because he's not really in the quarterback race right now. I noticed when he got pressured...Dylan just threw the ball up for grabs. I like what I saw from him though.

Ty Simpson did something in the first half yesterday that I don't even think been mentioned on here yet. Ty called a play at the line of scrimmage by looking at Jermaine Burton. He looked over the defense and called his own shot. Ty overthrew Burton but man he was wide open. (PULLED THE STRINGS TO QUICK)

If Rees is as good as they say at developing then Jalen Milroe could be a really good quarterback but you won't get the full offense with him because he's a one trick pony right now. He can be ELITE but it's going to take hard work from Rees and Jalen Milroe. I guess we can scheme plays for him but when we play a defense that's capable of stopping our run game then we will be in trouble with him as QB right now. Milroe has to work on a few things...reading a defense, accuracy, timing, climbing the pocket, and not staring down his receivers.

Ty Simpson needs some work but he's not as far off as people make him out to be. There's no need to get a quarterback out of the portal when you got one who's capable of running the entire offense if you work on a few things with him. Here are a few things Ty needs to work on: Shorter release, confidence, timing w/receivers, and climbing the pocket (which he did a good job yesterday)!

Put a decent offensive line in front of him...spoon feed him for a while and let him gradually take over because he will be able to once Ty gets that confidence.

Real and honest assessment of what I saw yesterday. I like all our guys but Ty Simpson has the most potential to unlock the full offense right now.

Agree to disagree...but this is FACTS! Could definitely change before the season though.

That’s as close to my opinion as I’ve seen. Ty may not be as fast as Jalen, but he is plenty athletic. He is also the son of a college coach. He has it between the ears.

Ty could probably use one more developmental year in an ideal world. If we could get an ELITE one and done senior QB from the portal as a bridge that would be perfect. I just don’t think Jalen has “it” whatever that is, that the elite ones have. It’s sucks because he’s such a great athlete. That said, I sort of felt the same way about Hurts in 2017 and look at him now. Of course, we don’t have those 2-3 extra years for Milroe to develop either. We need a baller now. And right now, he ain’t it.

Come fall camp it’s going to be wide open for all positions. I think Saban is going to make this fall camp extremely tough. He’s eluded to this already, both qb’s better be ready for what’s coming their way.

These spring practices and scrimmages has been a cakewalk to what’s coming in the fall probably.

The biggest separating factor that I see between the top 2 QBs is Milroe possesses game changing running ability. We've seen Simpson is very capable as a runner but Milroe has speed that will make a DC say oh shite. It's something teams would have to gameplan around.

The crux is gonna be turnovers. If Milroe is making too many bad turnovers (like the pick to Story) and Simpson is not making those mistakes, then Simpson will win the job. If Milroe can limit the turnovers through fall camp, he will be the starter. His full potential is somewhere between Lamar and Hurts.

Simpson will reach his peak when he learns how to disect the defense and get the ball off on time. We want him to be Mac Jones with much better wheels. Right now I see a lot of Eric Ainge in him.

To me, it looks like Simpson is probably a little closer to reaching his full potential than Milroe right now. But that's really just based off one scrimmage. And, Milroe has a higher ceiling.

I really think we'll be fine with either of them. This has the feel of a Zow/Watts situation where both guys are capable of winning games for us.

You started off decent then you just went downhill. I don't get your assessment one bit honestly.

Milroe's running ability don't scare anybody because they already know he's a running quarterback. I would literally play man to man on the outside with one deep safety because he's not a passer at all YET! As of right now Milroe is along the lines of a Malik Hornsby & a Khalil Tate. He's not near the passer Hurts was as a Freshman and Hurts wasn't the runner Milroe is.

Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee & whoever else won't be scared of him. He has work to do.

Give me a guy who has it between the ears at quarterback any day.

Don’t know if it has been mentioned. Ty dislocated the thumb on his throwing hand in the 1st quarter. It won’t require surgery but he will wear a rubber cast for 3 weeks.
