Probably not easy coaching the same position that Nick Saban assists with.

Looks like Tony Mitchell was arrested with guns and drugs down in FL.

Serious charges headed his way unfortunately.

What's one of the worst things you can do on Spring Break before Spring practice starts?

Get arrested

Alabama freshman DB Tony Mitchell arrested in Florida

quote:

Mitchell, who was driving, and passenger Christophere Lewis were stopped by deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, March 15. During the traffic stop, police detected the “odor of burnt marijuana” coming from the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office Facebook page. When asked if there was marijuana in the vehicle, Mitchell produced a baggie.

quote:

A search of the vehicle produced an additional significant amount of marijuana, a set of scales, a loaded handgun between the passenger seat and center console, and a large amount of cash

Smh. To be fair though, I thought you were required to have drugs and a firearm to legally operate a motor vehicle in Florida.

The intent to sell is the issue. He wasn't charged with the firearm. If he can get out of that he will be fine either at Bama or somewhere else if he gets dismissed. He will have a good lawyer and that will prevent this from hurting him too bad but it was still just doesn't make any sense for him to be involved with this smh. Don't know Tony but based on how his recruitment seemed to be I hope he is getting his priorities straight.
