Pritchett was likely going to redshirt anyway.

For sure, but this is more about his ability to do strength and conditioning, and practice. As a summer enrollee this basically means he will be not very far off from the 2023 early enrollees in terms of on-field live reps and conditioning. Plus he won’t have an opportunity to compete for a spot in the 2nd group and get the ceremonial 4 games worth of mop up duty.

Lawson has made serious push foe the position.

Lawson looked really good in the spring game. Very instinctive and very powerful upon contact. Reminds me a little bit of Demeco Ryans the way he was putting RBs down.

He can still do conditioning and that's probably what he needs most. Put him on that Ekiyor diet and let him get lean (err, not lean but lose body fat). The worst thing he could do is lay around and get fat.

Alabama has some serious talent at the linebacker positions. Lawson is legit but I think that Jihaad Campbell could end up being even better than him. He's a freakish athlete.

Errrbody overlooking Chris Braswell. He is going to have a monster season.
The three headed dragon of Anderson/Turner/Braswell is going to be a nightmare.
Gods please keep them healthy.

I'm not overlooking him at all. The media and rest of college football may be overlooking him. He's going to be a big piece to this defense. It would be awesome to see all three of those guys on the field together.

Interested in why you feel everybody is overlooking him, considering almost every report since spring has talked about him.

Captain Meco brought the wood but more than anything he really shined between the ears. He had a knack for understanding the game that a lot of guys don't ever get.

I expect to see Braswell, Turner, and Will on the field a lot together in obvious passing situations

That’s 15 consecutive years spending time as #1 during a season. For those keeping count.

Anybody got an idea about the WR rotation/groupings?

Saw Saban mentioned Harrell the other day but it didn't sound great.

Thought for sure one of those young guys would be making some noise by now. My money is on Leary.

I’m guessing if we played today it would be Burton and Brooks outside and Jojo in the slot. Holden, Leary rotating in. We will see if anyone else can elevate and be game ready. I was most excited about Anderson but he’s out for a few weeks which really delays his development and almost assures we won’t see him anytime soon. Maybe Preston or Bonds can work their way in. Saban didn’t sound high at all on the UL transfer. Talking about needing him to channel things in the right direction. That almost sounds like attitude or effort issue to me.
