If a punter can't stand on the 50 and kick the ball into the endzone 95% of the time then he has no business with a scholly.

All of the kickers and punters we sign are extremely talented guys who are among the best in the country. We just seem to always pick the guys who turn into complete headcases and have in-game meltdowns. In practice they can drill field goals from near 70 yards, and in the games they routinely miss extra points lol

It seems like the kicker we have now is alright

I really hope that Reichard continues his steady kicking from last year. I don't see a reason why we he would not, but the only thing that makes me nervous is the offense was so good the only pressure kick I can remember him even attempting is the 50 yarder he made before half of the UGA game. Hopefully the O is so good again he doesn't need to take many more this year .

Next time you get into a Bama game then watch the punters warmup. We're talkin toe to receiver and not roll.

That's only a 38-40 yard punt. So 95% might be low honestly. I agree with you.

Anyone know why the Alabama jet is at Jack Edwards in Gulf Shores today?

Isn't the #1 sophomore RB at Gulf Shores with Mark Hudspeth? He may be a junior this upcoming season. I think I read that somewhere. He transferred from another high school in Alabama, maybe in northern part of state.

I don't know if recruiting is going on at this point but could be.

Good for him. I hope he does well and has a chance to come back one day.

I am going to miss his “Tick Tock”....early warning system. Good luck to him. We are just down to Golding now.

Has something changed with how they measure a football field?

Punting yards are counted from the LOS , not where he punts from like a FG

While that is true, from the the 50 yard line to the endzone is still 50+ yards which is what the original post was alluding to.

I was just kidding with my post. The way the post I responded to just came across funny the way it is was worded.

I didn't watch the entire Bama A-Day but I don't recall one punt that was decent. That 50 yards (flight) has to have some height otherwise you're in more trouble.

I agree but if he kicks it from the 50, at 14 yds deep from center( pros usually ) that is a 36 yarder and we are all up in the air fussing bc we have no punter

Point still stands we have been terrible there for a while . Thank god we had a prolific offense last year where it didn’t hurt us
