I still have a hard time believing Bohannon was placing bets on us to lose. There's got to be something more to this than that.

Robot noted the rumors of him having debt. If that's the case, it may be that he didn't gamble himself but was sending non-public information to people who did.

Either way........other than the stain of the situation, this is kind of the best case scenario?????
Bo sucks as a head coach, nobody else in the organization had any involvement, we don't have to waste any money on a buyout and can devote that to big payday for the next guy and we get a different look/voice for the stretch run and tournament.
Win, win...........win?

Yeah, if no players or other coaches/administrators were involved this is basically just Pete Rose with the Reds. Bad, but not an Astros level scandal. If our PR people didn't suck so much they'd have a golden opportunity to paint the players and school as the victim in all of this.
Hiring the two biggest pieces of shite ever employed by the school in a coaching capacity back to back in the same sport is so unlikely that it's almost impressive though, I must say.

We should hire the Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol. Don’t let the facts that he’s squandering one of the better batting lineups in the majors and has led them to their worst start since 1930 fool you. He’s got playoff experience

No wonder we were serving up 0-2 fastballs for lunch in a couple of series?
I wonder if pitchers have any insight on strange pitch selections?

pitch selection isn’t the problem. PITCH LOCATION IS!

I don't really have a hard time believing Bo was involved. People do dumbass shite and take stupid risks to make money all the time.

one of my arguments against firing him earlier was that I was afraid he would end up back at Auburn and recruit lights out there and since Auburn has a great coach then they would make a lot of noise in the SEC and nationally. Now Coach Bo will probably have restrictions on ever coming back to college baseball so now I don't have to worry about that argument. So in my opinion, this is a win/win all around. He sucked as an actual coach. The only upside he brought was his recruiting.

ESPN Article
If this is all true Coach Bo is probably going to jail. Federal wire fraud, racketeering, criminal conspiracy are all on the table for this type of crap.

No, it's not.
All the outside people will ever remember is "Alabama coach caught betting on games".
Another black eye for Alabama Athletics. No way around it.

It will be forgotten in two weeks by the outsiders. They will move on to something else to troll on. It’s fricking college baseball we are talking about here.

That’s the equivalent of the Bud Light marketing team saying “but think of all the free exposure!”
In no way, shape or form is any of this a win for Alabama Baseball or the University of Alabama. They could legitimately shutdown the team for the rest of the season depending on who all was involved and how widespread it was.

No it won’t, our coach was betting against his own team. It’s going to be talked about when Bama baseball is brought up for years if not decades.
This is a low point for the Alabama Baseball program.

Supposedly Bo was communicating with the bettor during the game and the bettor was betting on us to lose.
Probably looking at win forfeits from this season and may see program shut down remainder of season during investigation. It's a federal situation since it's interstate commerce.
Hopefully it's a one time incident and hasn't been occurring over multiple seasons. If so, could be looking at longer term program punishment. Definitely a black eye and going to affect recruiting for a period of time. May not be big national news after a week or so, but still going to set the program back. Not sure what Bama could have done to prevent it but still may have to pay a price for what Bo has done.

I feel like we still don’t really know the involvement here. One article says it was two beta before the game and now people here are saying it was live betting. I feel like many are slinging shite against the wall right now.
