Their BP comes in and basically shuts us down. Our BP comes in and gives 6-7 runs. We have a long way to go to catch up with the upper echelon of the SEC teams. Our BP alone is not SEC ready.

Still think we get a regional bid, but we have nobody to blame but ourselves if we don't. Terrible end to what had been a solid season.

Very disappointing last four games. Our guys have not played with the execution or urgency you’d hope for out of a team in their position. All we can hope for is the bats to get real hot in whatever regional we go to (I do think we will be in one). Cause I have no faith in our pitching.

I know we lost a lot in the portal last offseason, but we were better last year compared to this year. Not the way you want to close the season.

I think the metrics are too good for them to miss a regional. Probably one of the last teams in.

Yea they were projected Last 4 in before the game . That’s why I wanted them to lose so maybe they would be out in case there was a cap on SEC teams in

I don't follow closely and really have not in several years, but why does this program suck so bad. This program has not been relevant in 20 years and even in the Wells years were not consistently dominati aND never came close to winning a CWS. What gives? No resources? Hard to believe we don't have the resources as other SEC programs. Did USC just get lucky with legendary coach we never had?

We made Omaha 3 times in 4 years under Wells, including a runner up finish in 1997. That was pretty close to winning all.

Bad take on Jim Wells. That was a great 15 year run. Won the SEC regular season twice. Won the SEC tournament 6 times. Three Omaha trips and a runner up finish.

Alabam’s lack of success since 2010 is a lot of things. Alabama just didn’t participate in the baseball facility arms race in the late 2000s. We didn’t update until 2016. You also had state lotteries helping more and more SEC programs through the 2000s. Then just our own issues to make it even harder. Just bad coaching hires. It’s a lot to overcome. But I think a lot of that was fixed. And now NIL and the portal helps moving forward. You can win big at Alabama. And I think that will be proven by Rob Vaughn.

Wells was great no doubt.. you're right 97 was close but that was 27 years ago. The last 15 years have been abysmal and aosing record in SEC play every year is waning on the fanbase

We did 7 days ago.

We deserve a 3 after losing 3 of 4, probably. Or a #2 seed in a top 5 teams regional.

We were in the baseball equivalent of the Sweet 16 last year and are about to go to our 3rd NCAA tournament in 4 years. We don't suck at all.

We did suck bigly from 2015 to 2019.

Rough day in Hoover

quote:

The Tide dropped its opening game in Hoover for the first time since 2014

HOOVER, Ala. – Alabama baseball dropped its opening game of the Southeastern Conference Tournament, 10-5, to South Carolina on Tuesday afternoon at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. With the loss, the Crimson Tide moves to 33-22 overall on the year.

Alabama was first to score on Tuesday, plating three runs over the first two innings with one in the first and two in the second. South Carolina then responded and never looked back, posting a six-run third to gain the advantage for good. The Tide cut the lead to one with a two-run fourth but would get no closer as SC plated single runs in the fifth and eighth to go with a two-run sixth for the 10-5 final.

South Carolina reliever Chris Veach (4-1) earned the win, throwing the final 5.2 scoreless innings with three hits and six strikeouts. The loss went to Alabama reliever Aidan Moza (3-3).

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"We are not thrilled with the result, but South Carolina played well – you have to tip your cap to them. Now we kind of sit and wait. We'll go back and practice, continue to prepare, and hopefully we get a chance to keep playing baseball next week."

Alabama baseball's Mac Guscette was selected as a semifinalist for the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award, the Wichita Sports Commission announced Wednesday morning.

Guscette is one 16 semifinalists for the Posey, which has been presented each year since 2000 to the nation's top catcher at the Division I level. Previously known as the Johnny Bench Award, finalists for this year's catcher of the year honors will be announced on June 6. Those three catchers will be invited to Wichita, Kan., with the winner being announced on June 26 during the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet.

What regional would y’all like to see Alabama sent to? Have feeling it will probably be one of the ACC ones. Would love Virginia or NC St. Think those might be the most winnable

At this point I would be happy for any regional. The way we've played lately and some of the bubble teams doing better is making me uneasy that we are even invited
