Those 3 inches are probably the difference between him being a fringe lotto to first rounder on potential and returning to develop his skills.
At 6-5/6-6, he’s gotta have a complete guard’s skill set to be an NBA starter.

It puts everybody on an even playing field and nobody's wearing thicker soled shoes than they would play with

Im confused. Was he that good defensively?

Yes, and the best rebounder on the team.

Philon was listed at 6'4 and is 6'2 as well.
Heights are made up in sports. No one is actually as tall as listed. Bama gives every player 2 extra inches at minimum.
Only guy I can remember anywhere who was taller than listed was Kevin Durant. He called himself 6'10 because he didnt want to be a C, but its been pretty much confirmed hes over 7 foot. He and Wemby are fricking unicorns.
edit: I think this measurement confirms Allen comes back. His standing reach is the same as Philons....and hes 3 inches taller. Thats almost more damning than being 3 inches shorter than hes supposed to be. Hes a late first rounder at best with that profile, and I hate it for him. Honestly.
I really think his best bet is playing PG. Several of the top PGs in this class are roughly his size. Its gonna be tough to sell him as a wing. Especially since theres also athleticism questions.

A potential home and home series between Alabama and Iowa is in the works, per Iowa 247’s @SBock247
Thoughts?

One of my best friends since middle school is an Iowa fan. I'd love to play them just for shite talking purposes.

Agree with all of that.
NBA is a lanky mans game and he better develop his outside game if he wants to be able to create offense in that league because they arent going to have to respect some elite first step on the blowby. 34% from 3 isnt bad, but it isnt going to get him drafted either.

He removed his name from participating in the combine scrimmages. That usually means his camp has heard enough positive feedback from teams that they're happy with where his stock is currently and don't want to damage it by possibly performing poorly in the scrimmages. I think he likely stays in the draft.

Apparently, he just hit a 42.5" vertical.

This was the vertical leaderboard about two hours ago. Allen may be tops on the list now.

that answered the athletic questions. He never seemed close to that explosive.

Where would Aiden Sherrell be on that board? Just wondering.
