We certainly got the memo on getting bigger and longer

Amari Allen coming back is the big puzzle piece. Hoping he pulls a Philon.

Yeah that's what I had heard but apparently the door isn't shut all the way closed.

There are rumors of Tyler Tanner and Christian Anderson entering the portal. I doubt we have the $$ but landing one of those 2 would be amazing

at this point, if they enter they already have a destination.

But Tanner would be worth every penny in our system.

Fielder is a great add for our offense. To be determined if he can play like an almost 7fter on defense at this level but I like his ability to shoot the 3 and shot-fake-to-dribble-drive as a big.

I've heard he is a willing, and at least a competent defender, but remains to be seen at this level.

This years draft is one of the strongest ever. Next years is much weaker. Amari should come back, improve his stock, and enter next years weaker draft.

I was going to post this. This draft is absurd, especially with ball handler/offensive initiator types. If Allen has this season, but it was next year's draft, even with the freshmen wall, he'd be a solid first round pick, probably early 20s.

He's going to go through the process. You'll know how serious NBA teams are depending on which combine invites him. If he's not in the top/main combine, expect him back. Even going through it, he may be back. But he might also perform well enough that a team wants him late first.

Either way, this process has usually worked for us (cough cough Bediako cough). Hopefully it leads to solid off-season development, and you'll see 2nd year jumps, like we've seen from a lot of Bama guys under Oats. I think he'll be back, but it could be a photo finish.

Only concerning thing is that his stats against P5 teams this last season were really bad (albeit with a small sample size).

- vs USC: 21 MIN, 1/8 FG, 0/2 3P, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 TO, 2 PTS
- vs NCSU: 26 MIN, 1/4 FG, 0/1 3P, 6 REB, 3 AST, 1 BLK, 4 TO, 5 PTS

Silver lining is that he's played multiple seasons of Big East basketball so the level of play/athleticism shouldn't be as big an issue for him as it was with Williamson.

I’ll chalk it up to being in Maui and just assume he’ll be elite on the mainland.

Looks like he faced 7 top 50 teams last year and was good not great. Of course he’ll have more support at basically every position here

Fielder could be really good. he averaged 14.7 on 54% shooting and 41% from 3 in only 23 minutes for a team that averaged 78 ppg.

If he played 25 minutes per game at our pace he'd be scoring over 18 a game and getting 8 rebounds.

That said, I'm not going to get worked up for a transfer from a lower level conference. Not again.

Either one of these would be enormous and we need to be open to asking for outside help if possible to land one

We get Aiden back and our team would have basically be filled and loaded for a top5 return

Donnie Freeman (Syracuse F)

6-9, former 5-star/top-10 recruit. 16.5 PPG, 7.2 RPG this season. 50.4% FG as a freshman. Top-10 portal player.

Latest: St. John’s has surged and now holds the edge. Pitino has the highest offer on the table and is positioned to close — would fill Zuby Ejiofor’s role (16.3 PPG, 7.3 RPG) after SJU’s first Sweet 16 since 1999.

Kentucky: Visited last week, looked promising, but would need to up its offer. Further pressure after Sebastian Rancik committed to Florida State, leaving the Wildcats thin in the post.

Alabama: Shifted focus to Drew Fielder (Boise State).

Tennessee: Expressed interest but not a major player.

Sort of off topic but the concert this past weekend in Ttown, are we expecting any of that revenue to help our NIL in any sports? If so do any of the insiders know what the breakdown will be for the sports?

I highly doubt that helped with NiL very much. Wallen is a UcheaT fan. Im sure he wouldnt help us out of he could avoid it.

Only in the very indirect way that it brought in a ton of revenue to the city and business owners that are likely NiL contributors because business is better when we’re good at sports.

Would’ve we rather had someone better do a big concert like that but oh well.

So, NCAA may be approving the 5 for 5 rule this off-season. Seth Trimble and Darrion Williams, despite being out of eligibility by playing 4 years, have both entered the portal in case this allows them an extra year. I believe we might be able to retain Williamson if we wanted

But for real, Trimble might be a portal option.
