Quinerly and Sears weren’t “top level PG’s” by any stretch. They were the primary ball handlers on CNO’s best teams.
I think Holloway and Allen will both be back and the staff has a good idea of where they stand. That would give Bama as good of a backcourt as any.
It’s been the play at the 3 and 4 positions both offensively and defensively that have determined the success of CNO’s team. Outside of Philon this year, Oats has never had elite PG play. On the other hand, the list of Wings is a mile long and the majority of them were all year 1 instant impact contributors.

This years draft is one of the strongest ever. Next years is much weaker. Amari should come back, improve his stock, and enter next years weaker draft.

I think he comes back, but unfortunately for us the "weak" spot in this draft is the wings after the top 3.

Samuels is far and away the best all around scorer Bama has had since Brandon Miller. How people forget that Amari Allen was a fringe top75 prospect that most fans are now banking the 2027 on, but are dismissive of a guy like Samuel’s is mindboggling. Same with several of these guys just 1-year removed from their TF season.

This past year was essentially:
Philon: 2nd year
Allen: TF
Jemison: TF
Sherrill: 2nd year player

- Holloway, Wrightsell, Mallette all transfer Guards
- Irrelevant completely useless transfer portal class

Sears was like POTY in the SEC or something crazy. He was averaging 20. That is top level playing in college. If we have a guy that averages 20 at PG we will be fine, even if he is short and doesnt do shite in the NBA.

Quinerly wasnt the lead guard. Holloway has been in the JQ role.

Huge Samuels guy and always thought he was the clear standout from our freshmen. Having said that, I'm going to assume you meant he's the best FRESHMAN scorer since Miller. Otherwise, that's a scalding hot take.

Allen should test out the waters. I imagine he'll be told to come back. He is not ready. The NBA has done a terrible job of developing guys that don't make day 1 rosters. If he gets sent to the G League he will end up regretting coming out early.

I'd say there's a 90% chance Allen comes back to college. But we will see what the NBA has to say.

I don't have On3 because I'm not paying for that but I saw on twitter that Tipton apparently predicted we land Fielder but he gave the pick "low confidence".

a) retain Allen
b) bribe the DA
c) Throw a bag to HandloggedTenminutesagame for when we play the Mara's of CBB.

Top 3 team.

C is optional.

Great pickup if true. I think we're set at 4/5 with Fielder, Bristow, Garrison, Davis-Fleming, and Onyejiaka. That's a lot of 6'10"/11" bodies with some athleticism to boot. I would have liked to have a 7'2" dude who can slap the top of the backboard but we don't have unlimited cash.

Allocate the rest for:
1. Retaining Allen
2. Lead guard
3. Defense attorney

I think Jemison makes a big sophomore leap. Dude was so close to getting "it" last year. If he works on his agility, he will be able to guard 1-5 and be a significant offensive threat. I think people forget he was a starter on a Sw16 team for the last 2 months of the season.

Now, we gotta see how Freeman situation plays out.

I think Allen will be back.

Either way, I know everyone wants a guard out of portal, but I don't think it's a sure thing. Tomorrow is the last day to enter the portal right?

We aren't involved in that anymore.
