I think we do have some good guards and tackles but the development has been poor in this area.

McClellan is a FREAKING SENIOR. There is no way he should whiff like he does in pass protect.

Yeah. You ought to know better than this. If you played competitive ball, you know that you don’t just go throwing stuff against a wall. You have a plan and you carefully observe if it works. If it doesn’t then you carefully make changes.

Rolling up and saying, “You can’t do the job. Pack up your locker” is not how to run a team.

Would like to see Formby get a shot at LT he looked good in pass pro the few scrimmage clips I saw

i was watching the kelce brothers podcast with Hurts. Hurts was saying that the ball comes at him fast and he has to be in a fielding stance to get it. They were all laughing, but the center said he needs his hands, (i guess to block after the snap). Maybe thats the reason with our center.

Also, I noticed that Simpson was in a fielding stance and was able to catch the ball better from our center

just my .02, not saying which QB is better, because I have no clue at this point between the two.

I'm glad you posted this. I wondered why Hurts stood like that.

Suggesting they were letting Simpson get hit on purpose is absurd

I know it’s absurd but Josh Pate last night mentioned the same thing. Other coaches have mentioned it to. It looked like defense played hard because they had too so we wouldn’t lose but the offense put zero effort except for Roydell

I heard others around the media alluding to the same. If the case Saban should kick them to the curb but the OL and an RB looking back at replay seemed very unenthusiastic about blocking

I think they're just not very good players w/r/t execution and it almost got their QBs killed. It ain't like they were Fort Knox when their supposed Favorite Person was back there.

my 2 cents. ever since we changed our s&c we been going down hill. obviously weaker by the way the biguns get pushed around. but whats made that worse this year is they bulked the ol up to the point they cant move. guys are blowing by them and destroying the qb and blowing up plays repeatedly.

i do believe theres something going on behind the scenes. lets see ho milroe and company performs against petes defense. i think that will tell us a lot

Nerds.

Honestly, though. We went from lots of injuries due to S&C to being too soft at times.

I don't think we can have Cochran's personality and energy without injuries though. That personality is going to put people through the grinder and come out stronger. The grinder is just going to get it's fair sample.

Just keep our current S&C program, but add one grad assistant who is as coked up as Randy Savage in the 80’s on the sidelines.

I think I would rather deal with the injuries than watch us be soft and undisciplined.

Same. 'Make their arse quit' is dead, and has been dead for a while. If the question is whether I'd prefer 2007 or a (likely) 9-3/8-4 2023, I would take 2007 in a second. That team played their arse off for the most part, and especially on defense.

Cochran had to go to rehab. Plus he wanted an on field coaching job, not S&C, and he got that at Georgia - until he entered rehab.

The worst example of that from the USF game was 100% an effort issue. One of the lowest effort plays I have ever seen from an Alabama player.
