Formby and Roberts both looked bad on that play, kinda concerning how our linemen don’t hold their blocks long enough. By now, you’d think they’d be better at locking a guy up with their hand placement, leverage, etc.
Gotta wonder if that’s on o-line coaching. But Proctor did mention last week that the coaches were harping on them to hold their blocks longer, so I don’t know.
I did go back and watch a couple of games when we had the duo of Lacy & Yeldon. Man were they good at side stepping the first guy and getting thru the open hole without losing forward momentum. Didn’t realize Lacy was as good at that as he was.
Lacy was a terror even more so than Henry .. loved seeing that violence
OK 34 Bama 13
29 yds
29 yds

Ty is 2 of 14 on passes that had at least 30 yards of air. This is why we Bams cant have good things. But I still think Ty is the best for Bama and was pulling for him playing more last year. He would be a more experienced and developed QB. Regardless of his draft status and heisman finish he needs another year at Bama
Thats exactly the reason he wont be drafted high. NFL takes more chances on QB like Anthony Richardson of Colts with live arm even if they are not accurate and consistent.

though he has got accolades .. is it the center who is getting blown

It gets really weird with the hard on people have for calling out Milroe, especially on a night like this considering he obliterated LSU last year.
I appreciate the big games and SEC Championship he won for us and hate it never came together to get us a national title.
especially considering offensive performance today .. both have flaws and strengths.
these two have lost the ball more than all other Saban QB combined

I'd give my left arm to have Jim McElwain at OC. Ya know, where we put the QB under center, our OL put their hand in the dirt and fired out and blew people off the line of scrimmage. Our RBs actually attacked the line instead of passively sitting on their heels waiting for the QB to receive the shotgun snap 4 yds deep.
McElwain ran the pistol a ton so QB was not under center a lot

Yes I’m aware we’ve had bad games against Lower competition in the past and played better going forward. I’m confident we will play better in the future too. But this team just has flaws that just can’t be fixed with this combination of roster personal and coaching staff. No running game, defense relies on turnovers to be effective, offense has been consistently okay at best in conference play. I think we still finish undefeated in the regular season but this offense cannot score 30 points against anyone worth a damn. For me it’s good to temper expectations though so I don’t get too annoyed if things don’t work out.
we are the most overrated team in college football this year and
the most overrated in Bama's football history

The good thing is we don’t have to worry about Venables stealing signs on 1st down. We are running Jam up the middle no matter what.

I know Grubb and DeBoer get the attention, but isn’t it time to have a conversation about the offensive line coach? I don’t even know his name and that’s kind of wild considering how shitty this unit has been all year.
didnt Grub work with same OL coach in Washington? Si its his preferred OL coach

Ty is just mentally fricking weak. Soft as a soggy damn diaper. Tired of his pouting
Both coaching staffs were right ... there was no good choice hence Milroe played no matter what

The run game. Whether it’s an OL issue or play calling issue or both. Fix it! Without a productive run game, I have serious doubts this team can make a championship run.
agree that and the long pass
