LSU landed at No. 4 in USA TODAY's initial preseason rankings after winning the National Champions but dropped down No. 9 in the USA TODAY post-spring Top 25:
quote:

9. LSU
The defending national champions have lost more star power than any team in the country, including star quarterback Joe Burrow and the national assistant coach of the year in Joe Brady. Ed Orgeron is back, along with enough talent to keep LSU on track for a New Year's Six bowl. Repeating seems like a stretch.
Top 10:
1. Clemson
2. Ohio State
3. Georgia
4. Oregon
5. Alabama
6. Oklahoma
7. Florida
8. Penn State
9. LSU
10. Notre Dame

They simply cannot quit Oklahoma.

Why is Notre Dame always in the top 10? Have they done anything besides being named Notre Dame? Georgia? Oklahoma? This list is stupid.

And Oklahoma fails them EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. It's bizarre, no? It's almost as if large sums of cash are passing hands to keep a team in the conversation that hasn't won a national championship in two decades.

Except Oklahoma doesn’t fail them. They shouldn’t be ranked ahead of LSU, but they consistently finish seasons in the Top 10 because of the weak Big 12

Oregon above LSU and Bama. This is a joke right?

Anybody that would rank Oregon and ND in the top ten should stick to covering cooking shows because they don’t know a damn thing about football

My too early to predict prediction is LSU goes 11-1 in the regular season with a loss away to UF. We get revenge in the SEC Championship game on our way to defend the the National Championship in the CFB playoffs.

Man, that would be a nasty, nasty SEC title game.

Clemson OhioSt and Florida are the only teams returning a starter at QB. That list is shite
user avatar
CanebreakCajun49 months
It is. Bama is not even sure who their QB is. Frohm is gone from a UGA team that cannot score. Oregon is Oregon. It is a joke.

LSU at #9 is as ridiculous as Georgia at #3…

We just won the national championship. LSU is on everyone's radar. We are the circled game.

Will never understand the love affair with Georgia, Oregon and Oklahoma.

Lol Penn State

That is stupid. I can see why we would not be top 4, but they put UGA, who lost their QB, Oregon, who is well Oregon, Penn State who cannot get past OSU and OU, who just lost Jalen Hurts above us? I am not sure how much research these so called experts do. Anyone who puts some time into can tell our D will be sick. They all say we will take a step back without Burrow, wow what insight. If Myles is even a good QB (he does not have to be great or be Burrow), this is an 11 win playoff team.

Brennan will surprise a lot of folks this year. He’s going to be a really good qb.

Good. I prefer we are at the top of the top 10. Play with a chip instead of playing entitled like Alabama and Clemson have for the last few years.

Georgia at 3?? I don’t understand the love affair with them. We dominated them in 18’ and 19’ Not sold on the wake forest QB transfer either. He was hot garbage against Clemson

You do realize he was at Wake Forest playing Clemson right? I mean did we not see Burrow look awful vs every good defense he played his first year starting with LSU level recruits? Did you see the difference a year makes? This guy and Monken are the two additions this year that make them a legit title contender IMO.

Man who cares? All these self appointed experts and their opinions mean nothing. Anytime you start thinking these supposed geniuses know anything remember that most had LSU winning 7 or 8 games last year. Also, the recruiting wizards had Jake Fromm a 4 star recruit and Joe Burrow a 3 star. Justin Jefferson wasn't highly recruited. Everybody has an opinion but everybody can't be right. Lol.

How many times do we have to beat Oklahoma before we are automatically ranked ahead of them?

If there is no 2020 season I am claiming the 2020 national championship as well. We were the best team to play games in 2020. Easy wins.
user avatar

You're gonna have to fight Bama for it. They've already got their paperwork going to claim the next championship. The Dothan Eagle newspaper has already declared them National Champions.
user avatar
Im a realist and am ok with a slide till we play and prove one way or the other but Oregon, Penn St, Florida... Some people try to hard to make waves
