Love taking really good Mississippi players. Kills two birds with one stone.

Doesn't matter much in mid-June. A commitment is now just a jumping off point for bids.
We know all this shite already. Let's start with everybody already knowing this so we don't have to ever mention it in these threads.
I can be happy if we get somebody because we have them at least. If we lose some, it is what it is.
re: Elijah Haven is the choice for QB in '27, PERIOD!!!!!

He's my pick. People don't understand. The polish will come later. What he has done as a young gun along with his size and physical ability, you go after that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, then go after the next guy. Smart kid too, he's the type that with good coaching, will turn into a #1 overall pick within 3 years.

quote:Hate to agree with you, but some in this thread are acting like complete clowns. IMO, Darby is really damn good. LSU is missing out on an elite guy if he leaves. However at the same time, I'm not going to get down on dudes leaving anymore. If he doesn't want to be here, on to the next.
your meltdown says otherwise
This whole thread is grown men upset at the decisions of a 17yr old lmao.

quote:A multi year starting WR is definitely more guaranteed than a true freshman.
That is less talented and not anymore guaranteed than the hs kid.
Kyren Lacy was expected as a 3rd round pick with the possiblity of a 2nd rounder. He had no problem eating up SEC defenses coming from UL.
Less talented? You do know G5 and under WRs go to the NFL and have good careers right? One a couple years ago won the triple crown at WR in a single NFL season.
quote:Anderson is still coming off an injury. I don't personally expect him to start this year based on who is in front of him. Having him as a backup WR is elite depth. Also, quit acting like we didn't a guy who was also considered a prized transfer recruit in Barion Brown. One of the fastest guys in college football with multiple years starting and also an elite return specialist. He's done it in the SEC too.
Nic Anderson was our prized portal wr and he was running at the bottom of the 2s and with the 3s all spring.
quote:You Hankton haters are beyond stupid. Both BTJ and Malik Nabers were TRUE FRESHMAN before he got here. You dumbasses will proudly say Joe Brady developed Burrow in one year out of 5 he had been in college. You will gladly say Joe Sloan developed Jayden Daniels in 2 of 5 years he was in college. However you put your foot down when 2 of the 3 years Nabers and Thomas were in college, they were developed by Hankton. You put your foot down when 2 of Aaron Anderson's 3 years were under Hankton. You put your foot down when 3 of Lacy's 5 years were under Hankton.
Also continue the Hankton trend of not developing the talent he has recruited and not having depth without overpaying in the portal.
The two highest guys Hankton recruited ran away before they even had a chance to play. As a matter of fact, of his first full class, 3 of the 4 WRs already transfered. Only Parker is here and he was on pace to be really good for LSU last year, but got hurt and missed over half the season. His 2024 class consisted of a high potential guy who was raw and a track athlete who is also raw at WR. Kelly is smart and he wants depth. LSU only got two WRs in the 2024 and 2025 class. We needed transfers.
Some of you prove your dumbass status real well when you down talk Hankton.
quote:Yeah, duhh. LSU never needs to worry about WRs because we have Louisiana, and LSU coaches know what good receiver talent looks like. The history proves its point through different coaches.
Yet the mantra around LSU boards remains "I'll never worry about WR at LSU". Obviously the coaches do indeed worry about wr.

Sucks because the kid is really good. You don’t have to announce a "final" decision when you are already committed. He's giving LSU an ultimatum.
At this point let's see how Feaster and Russell are doing. Hopefully they arent the same way.

Just to let people know, these kids get paid to come on these visits. My nephew is at Captain Shreve in Shreveport and Devin Harper would talk about him getting money on recruiting visits.

Giving ESPN equal weight in their rating system seems like a terrible idea.

quote:I agree with this. That's why i said each has a coach whose seat would be kinda warm if they don’t accomplish what they need to. Venables has been dealt a bad hand just like Kelly was when he first got here.
Kelly isn’t getting fired unless there’s a total collapse. Venables will be fired if they don’t go at least 8-4.
One thing I forgot to mention that gives LSU the heavy, heavy advantage, is that LSU has an extremely loaded WR group.

quote:This is why you should pay more attention to what is going on in CFB. Arnold did have problems, but Arnold also lost his OC to Miss St as HC. Arnold also lost his top 4 WRs before the season and then lost the top transfer they brought in a couple games into the season. Every time i see Arnold slander I laugh. As a sophomore with a few games under his belt playing in the SEC, that's a lot to ask of the guy.
Let Nic Anderson host him that weekend and tell him how much better LSU is for him than Oklahoma. Also, what are elite QB’s lining up to go to Oklahoma for now that Riley is gone? Do they not see what happened to Jackson Arnold?
However now Oklahoma has Washington St's OC who came along with Washington St's QB. That QB is friggin legit. Also Arbuckle the OC is a young up and comer. He helped to build Bailey Zappe the 62 TD pass guy, and was the QB coach for Austin Reed the next year who had over 4500 yards and 40 TDs. At Washington St, he was QB and OC for Mateer and Cam Ward. I can EASILY see them using what he did for dual threat Mateer, and saying how he could do the same.
Sloan also has his own dual threat extraordinaire. One who is even better than Mateer in Jayden Daniels. He has also shown that he can develop multiple QBs now with Nuss.
Personally speaking, I'd go with LSU, but it's not like either is a bad choice. OC Arbuckle is 29. He's also trying to get Peyton Houston. Sloan is trying to get Elijiah Haven. If you're negative, both coaches (Venables and Kelly), are on kinda warm seats. Either OC could be poached for a HC position if their teams show an elite year.

Legit dual threat. Gotta get this kid at LSU. He won’t start as a freshman, but he'll start after Hurley/Van Buren/a top 2026 transfer QB leaves.

quote:Many times it doesn't matter what a coach does. A kid will just want to leave regardless. And we're talking Ohio St here. They are now currently in the 3+ national championships since 2000 club with LSU and Bama. They also, like LSU, have won each by a different head coach. They put top DBs in the league consistently, and most importantly, they spend a lot too. Those a-holes will always be a fight.
I don’t question if Bradford is a good kid or not. Where specifically would you think CBK fell short in attempting to close the deal

Who cares though? Regardless of what he does, LSU will be fine. LSU is building oit an excellent safety room. We are only up in arms because of a ranking. Just because Spears hasn't taken over the world at LSU yet, doesn't mean the #2 safety coming out of his class, is not great. We also currently have the #7 safety in Hall in this class. Jhase Thomas is an elite athlete at safety too. His potential is high. As of right now the future at safety is elite. What we need is immediate impact. If Toviano comes into his talent playing a rotational role, and Spears does the same, we are in for a classic LSU level of high end safety play the next few years.

Has A&M produce anything at WR since Mike Evans?
Most of the kids that go there fizzle out, because it’s an obvious money grab
They've gotten TONs of other top WRs to go there and they amount to nothing in college or the pros.
Their 3rd best WR in the last 15 years couldn't hold DJ Chark's beer. Chark at the absolute best, is the 7th best WR to come out of LSU and go into the pros. Rueben Randle had a really good 4 year stint (have absolutely no idea how he did nothing afterwards), and Brandon LaFell was a #2 WR almost his entire career. I won't fault you for your order of ranking them 7th, 8th, or 9th, in LSU pecking order in that span. Hell, Christian Kirk himself would be 7th at best.

quote:Yall are stupid. Kid sees the writing on the wall. He commited in June of last year as the first WR committed to LSU. Since then, LSU has gotten commitments from 3 other guys, all ranked higher, and 2 in the top 100 overall. In addition, LSU is STILL going after Feaster (top 5 WR), and other highly ranked guys. Also, I'm willing to bet he wasn't the only one in his camp thinking about finding a better situation. Hell, SMU has big money too, they probably came and talked to him about it.
Recruiting is so fricking retarded now.
It doesn't negatively affect LSU anyway.

were any of those guys 160 lbs?
2. Devonta Smith was listed as 6'1 160. When he went to the draft after 4 years at Bama, he was 6'0 170. Anderson is listed at 6'0 160.
Don't know about you, but many of us hated when Smith turned us down to head off to Bama. We didn't care that he was 160lbs or barely 6 foot (he's just barely 6 ft).

I expected this. All this talk of taking 5 WRs with 2 being 5 stars and three being in the top 75, sounded way too bloated to me. People saying we are losing a lot of WRs just don't get it. Nobody wants to be in the same class, in the same exact position, as four other guys.
If we can somehow land Feaster and keep the other three, Hankton will have reeled in the best WR class in LSU history.
