What he has done as a young gun along with his size and physical ability, you go after that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, then go after the next guy. Smart kid too, he's the type that with good coaching, will turn into a #1 overall pick within 3 years.

A multi year starting WR is definitely more guaranteed than a true freshman.

Kyren Lacy was expected as a 3rd round pick with the possiblity of a 2nd rounder. He had no problem eating up SEC defenses coming from UL.

Less talented? You do know G5 and under WRs go to the NFL and have good careers right? One a couple years ago won the triple crown at WR in a single NFL season.

Anderson is still coming off an injury. I don't personally expect him to start this year based on who is in front of him. Having him as a backup WR is elite depth. Also, quit acting like we didn't a guy who was also considered a prized transfer recruit in Barion Brown. One of the fastest guys in college football with multiple years starting and also an elite return specialist. He's done it in the SEC too.

You Hankton haters are beyond stupid. Both BTJ and Malik Nabers were TRUE FRESHMAN before he got here. You dumbasses will proudly say Joe Brady developed Burrow in one year out of 5 he had been in college. You will gladly say Joe Sloan developed Jayden Daniels in 2 of 5 years he was in college. However you put your foot down when 2 of the 3 years Nabers and Thomas were in college, they were developed by Hankton. You put your foot down when 2 of Aaron Anderson's 3 years were under Hankton. You put your foot down when 3 of Lacy's 5 years were under Hankton.

The two highest guys Hankton recruited ran away before they even had a chance to play. As a matter of fact, of his first full class, 3 of the 4 WRs already transfered. Only Parker is here and he was on pace to be really good for LSU last year, but got hurt and missed over half the season. His 2024 class consisted of a high potential guy who was raw and a track athlete who is also raw at WR. Kelly is smart and he wants depth. LSU only got two WRs in the 2024 and 2025 class. We needed transfers.

Yeah, duhh. LSU never needs to worry about WRs because we have Louisiana, and LSU coaches know what good receiver talent looks like. The history proves its point through different coaches.

Just to let people know, these kids get paid to come on these visits. My nephew is at Captain Shreve in Shreveport and Devin Harper would talk about him getting money on recruiting visits.

I agree with this. That's why i said each has a coach whose seat would be kinda warm if they don’t accomplish what they need to. Venables has been dealt a bad hand just like Kelly was when he first got here.


One thing I forgot to mention that gives LSU the heavy, heavy advantage, is that LSU has an extremely loaded WR group.

Legit dual threat. Gotta get this kid at LSU. He won’t start as a freshman, but he'll start after Hurley/Van Buren/a top 2026 transfer QB leaves.

Who cares though? Regardless of what he does, LSU will be fine. LSU is building oit an excellent safety room. We are only up in arms because of a ranking. Just because Spears hasn't taken over the world at LSU yet, doesn't mean the #2 safety coming out of his class, is not great. We also currently have the #7 safety in Hall in this class. Jhase Thomas is an elite athlete at safety too. His potential is high. As of right now the future at safety is elite. What we need is immediate impact. If Toviano comes into his talent playing a rotational role, and Spears does the same, we are in for a classic LSU level of high end safety play the next few years.

Yall are stupid. Kid sees the writing on the wall. He commited in June of last year as the first WR committed to LSU. Since then, LSU has gotten commitments from 3 other guys, all ranked higher, and 2 in the top 100 overall. In addition, LSU is STILL going after Feaster (top 5 WR), and other highly ranked guys. Also, I'm willing to bet he wasn't the only one in his camp thinking about finding a better situation. Hell, SMU has big money too, they probably came and talked to him about it.

It doesn't negatively affect LSU anyway.
