re: If we can’t get Chambliss at QB, Byrum Brown is my pick

I've said before, but I only want Chambliss over Brown because he's already done it in Kiffin's offense in the SEC so easy transition. Byrum Brown would be insane at LSU.

If not Chambliss, I really want Byrum Brown. If he's looking at Lagway, let's hope Lagway is okay with redshirting this year as backup.

A lot of people think Kiffin is about to get every portal player he wants. He took Sage Ryan last time so let’s calm down the expectations. Next year isn’t gonna be THE year.

Forgot he played there (I don't watch Tulane). If he wants in, sure, but shouldn't break the bank on him.

Beamer will be canned after next season. Book it.....

quote:Nah, this about what I expected. My surprise is that other people are actually surprised by this. A lot of people know that Sellers's talent is #1 overall worthy. We've seen what he's capable of when he has some talent around him too. Plus, the going rate for a good QB out the portal is at least 2 mill. Did anybody see what a mediocre Calzada got at Kentucky?
Thought it would be more honestly. Would guess Sellers got at least $ 3 milly and then Stewart got around $2 mill.
Now for Stewart, it was 2 mill or more. The guy was already making 1-1.5 mill in his 2nd year. Nowhere to go but up.

quote:The only time you will ever see a team run a RB 30 times is if they don't have another RB worth a flip. Look at Ole Miss for example. You would think Logan Diggs is worth giving a few carries a game right? Nope. All they are doing is running the hell out of Lacy. It's Lacy and Chambliss. And I keep telling people, Lacy is not special. He's a power back that's getting the ball a ton at the goal line. Caden Durham had more 40+ yard plays and 50+ yard plays in 168 plays as a true freshman, as Lacy had in 299 plays this year. Durham also had only one less 30+ yard play in 130 less plays.
I don’t think he is. I can’t see him carrying it 30 times against Bama
Which is why I reiterate, we don't need Lacy. We need a power back for goal line and depth and to run out the clock late in the game. Get a 230-240lb RB from somewhere who moves pilez, and pay him 300k or less to come here.

quote:Exactly.
According to whom? Lester Earl? Berry had limited touches and ran behind a shitty OL all season. He showed glimpses of how electric he can be with the ball in his hands and we never utilized his elite pass catching ability. If he gains about 10 lbs to handle the work load, I don't see why he can't be an every down back.
re: If We Can’t Get Chambliss

100% yes. He's my #2 pick outside of Chambliss, and the only reason for that is Chambliss's experience in the Kiffin offense and the SEC. I just hope he doesn't follow his coach to Auburn if Chambliss decides to stay at Ole Miss (which wouldn't make a lick of sense), or he doesn't get his extra year.
People keep talking about Mestemaker, but this guy had 4160 yards from scrimmage with 42 total TDs in just 12 games. Yeah I know one is a rs freshman and the other is a 5th year senior, but not only does that make it better (more experienced), this guy is the epitome of a dual threat. He also faced a way stronger schedule and didn't look outclassed vs Miami nor Florida. Also, he showed who the better QB was in their duel. Keep in mind that North Texas supposedly had the better pass defense. His season states proves his talent.
3160 pass yards 66% 9.3 ypa 28 TDs 7 ints, 1008 rush yards 5.77 ypc 14 TDs.
This is Cam Ward getting his shot with a top P4 team. Again, if we can't get Chambliss, let's send the house.

2 mill+ no doubt. I'd actually pay to have that talent on the opposite side of Reliford. People are not ready for the monster that Reliford is. Him and Stewart would be a top 3 tandem in CFB next year.
re: LSU’s transfer portal needs? Basically an ENTIRE offense.
Posted by Datbayoubengal on 12/22/25 at 10:51 pm to TigerFan244
In all honesty, I don't think we need many WRs. A surefire #1 would be great to have, but we have the talent at WR to be special regardless. Nic Anderson went through the same thing Aaron Anderson did when he first got here. Many were questioning if A Anderson would amount to anything after his first season here. Then season 2 happened, and we saw just how good he could be. I can see him as a star player in Kiffin's offense. He's already done it when he was in Lebby's offense at Oklahoma. Next would be Parker. Loved this kid coming out 2 years ago. He'll be in year three and finally getting a chance. Taron Francis is the next underrated LSU WR turned star like Justin Jefferson and Malik Nabors.
RBs are really good despite what people say about Durham. All we need is a power back then a depth peice.
If we get Braelin Moore bafk, pay up Curne to come back at guard, and purchase two starter caliber tackles, I think we'll be okay at OL.

quote:You beat me to it. It's not a good look for Ole Miss to try to sabotage him.
He has already applied for the waiver.
Ole Miss is in the middle of a playoff run. Chambliss leaving is not their #1 concern at the moment.
Ole Miss is probably anticipating him leaving.
Any attempt to sabotage his decision will only hurt their reputation for future HS & Transfer Portal recruits. Im sure they know its not worth it for a kid thats has one year left.
They still have Simmons to fall back on and the portal looks like it will be heavy with QB options.

quote:No we won't, and i hope LSU isn't stupid enough to spend 2 mill or even 1.5 mill on Lacy. Go to a lower team a pick up a decent power RB, spend some money on maybe a d-2 or FCS RB as a backup option, and you have 4 RBs with Durham and Berry being your 1-2 punch.
You will be disappointed then.

Could get him on the cheap to sit for a backup year while we have possibly Chambliss or Byrum Brown as the starter.

This is where I'm at. Durham simply hasn't been the same since that injur his freshman year. Not to say he's forever damaged goods but if he wants out he seems easily replaceable via the porta
21 car 101 yards 3 TDs Arkansas
8 car 63 yards Bama
21 carries 95 yards Florida
11 carries 80 yards Oklahoma
Durham dealing with the massive arse that was the run blocking scheme and run play scheme was the damn problem.
I'm going to laugh my arse off if he goes somewhere and runs for 1300 yards. Some people just don't realize how handcuffed LSU was by Sloan and Davis.

Oooooooorrrr. We csn stop the farce that G5 teams deserve a shot. People keep trying to compare this shite to basketball and the FCS. We know damn well the levels are different from P4 and G5. The levels are extremely different from the top of p4 and the top of G5.
12 teams will still work, we just need common sense and to stop pandering.

LSUPilot07
Look, Lane made lemonade out of lemons with Chambliss but he isn’t anywhere near the talent of Leavitt, Sorsby or Joseph. We need to swing for the fences at QB.
Chambliss is definitely more talented than Joseph and the difference between the other two is arm strength. Also, Chambliss never had a game this year anywhere close to the 3 worst games Sorsby had.
I'll give you that every single one of these guys is athletic, exactly what I what in a QB, but why would I take the less accurate version of Chambliss in Joseph, IF I had a choice? Why would I take the possibility of a guy coming off a lisfranc injury and be less than he was before and/or have some lingering issues, IF I had a choice? Sorsby is nice, but why would I take him over the guy who has already been in this system and played in the conference IF I had the choice?
First option should always be Chambliss. We're not worried about the NFL, we're worried about winning the national championship. I'd take Underwood, Byrum Brown, Sorsby, and Joseph in that order after. I'm sorry, Leavitt's injury is too much to overlook.
