Multiple sources are reporting that LSU wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is opting out of the 2020 College Football season and will prepare for the NFL Draft.

Chase's father previously said that his son would be playing this upcoming season.

He joins defensive lineman Neil Farrell and defensive back Kary Vincent as the other Tigers to opt-out of the season.

$5 million insurance policy paid by LSU wasn't enough money. He decided to quit on his teammates instead.

Ryan Clark has done much damage to LSU football in the last 2 weeks. frick him and his self righteous, myopic comments.

I am sick of Clark and several former LSU players. I am a lifelong supporter of LSU and love the Tigers. However, there are limits. Football is entertainment. Nothing more. When morons start involving politics into college and pro football then it ceases to be entertainment and Old Glory comes way before the Purple & Gold.

Damn that’s disappointing from a selfish fans perspective (Me). Just a fricked up year all around. Enjoy those millions Ja’Marr and thank you for the memories!

I wish the best for these boys but they should have made these decisions earlier.

They have been getting conflicting messages almost daily. 3 months ago, the powers that be told him things would be back to normal by football season. Then with a snap of the finger, the assholes in the Big10 cancel and everybody is pressuring the SEC to do the same. I would assume he wanted to play but not under these circumstances. It serves no benefit to him.

This was All about CEO insisting he is a Trump man. He had half the team walk out (and that is not Gump spy talk). All he had to do is shut up and garble. Now, Obamacare is re-emerging and the white folk’s taxes are going to fly high. Systematic Dumbassism

Vernon is an imbecile. CEO also regularly does things with the governor and it half the team walked the whole of CFB would have known.

Guess he figured he'd better hurry up, while there is still an NFL. Sinking fast.

This is actually part of his reason why.

Agreed. If the NFL goes down the BLM road like the NBA then it will have a major impact on financial viability of the NFL.

Can’t say I blame him. Better get that big contract with that guaranteed money before the NFL goes defunct.

Whatever man. This is the new normal and it will continue after the chinese flu. Top juniors will simply opt out and not play their junior years. There will need to be a deadline for these players to declare this (not that they can’t just leave) so schools can do something with their scholarship.

Wishing Leatherwood and D Smith would follow suit, but NS knew early on to post a big BLM sign. Bama 10-0, LSU 5-5

Why can’t this bs happen to the gumps? 2020 needs Maason, Donald and a lot of gumps to forego season. Cripes Jamar

If he did this before practice started I'm good. Not that he cares what I think. Although I am a season ticket holder. But the fact he quit the team while preparing for opening day. That's a bad look.

Hate to see LSU/BLMU lose another great player. So grateful for 2019 before this 2020 clown show started.

Soaking up first team reps. Should have made that decision a while back. He really has nothing to gain in the college game. Good Luck Ja’Marr

When did we forget playing college football is actually fun and rewarding? He would gain that. Not nothing like you say.

Wish him the best and trust in the guys that are still here and hungry to make a name for themselves. Terrace Marshall is the #1 guy now and I believe he'll embrace that role. McMath will be the #2 Wideout. Palmer and Kirklin (both explosive athletes) will work in the slot. Arik Gilbert will line up at various positions (TE/WR) throughout the game to exploit the most advantageous mismatch. Freshman class of receivers are outstanding! The best receiver in college football has moved on, but we'll be fine.
