There has been a lot celebrating going on at ESPN by former LSU players this week but Kirk Herbstreit is hoping the current Tigers stay hungry.

Here's what he had to say on Twitter Thursday:

Why would anyone think he is mad or wrong? The guy is right and I’ve been around LSU long enough to have seen them not focus and have a let down. I think the staff and team realize that but nothing wrong with someone pointing it out.

Herbstreit is right. But I blame the media for some of some of this. You can’t promote a game and call it “the game of the century” and expect that winner of said game to just act like it was business as usual.

He's right about this. Hell, LSU will be without both of their starting OT's this week. Need to focus on keeping Joe Burrow out of the ICU. But, I believe Coach O will have the team focused for Ole Miss. Heaven knows this is the Rebel's GOTY.

Herbstreit is a class act who has been quietly pulling for the tigers for a long time.

Haha. That's not a message directed to the fans, its more directed to Clark, Booger and Spears not so subtly reminding them Ohio State is good too. Its all fun, Herbstreit likes his team just like our guys like LSU. Nothing wrong with that, some people take it all too seriously. I would love to play Ohio State and settle it on the field. Herbstriet has been more than fair with most of his LSU takes this year and particularly complimentary of Burrow and Coach O.

We have Ed O at the helm, and Joe burrow under center. Thanks for the concern, but they'll block it out.

KH is right. There is nothing wrong with what he said. I can see Spears on the SEC Network having fun on set with other SEC Network Anaylists and Broadcasters who are former SEC players. However, I think the national guys should probably tap the breaks a bit.

Agreed.... Keep focus on the task at hand, and as Joe Burrow himself said, they didn’t go into the season saying they were going to beat Alabama. There’s many more goals than just Bama. Many more to come... FINISH STRONG TIGERS....

Like I told my buddies at the watch party the other night - There was only one sad thing about the game, it took us eight years to get that feeling of euphoria. Reminded me of Hog fans here in Ark. in 2007 when they beat us. They thought they had really won something. It was a great win the other night but we haven't won anything just yet.

Sounds like good advice to me. If we lose a game remaining on our schedule it will have dire consequences. Take your destiny in your own hands and win them all.

Fans and alums reactions have nothing to do with the actual team’s prep for future opponents HERBIE

The team has to take it one game at a time...is fans and the former players on air can celebrate and talk as much shite as we want:
