John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
College Football writer Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports revealed his SEC win total picks for the upcoming season and has high hopes for LSU.

Sallee has the Tigers going over 8.5 wins, losing just one regular-season game at Ole Miss.
quote:

LSU

Over/under 8.5 wins

Wins: at UCLA, McNeese State, Central Michigan, at Mississippi State, Auburn, at Kentucky, Florida, at Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana-Monroe, Texas A&M

Losses: at Ole Miss

Analysis: Write it down in ink: LSU is back. The Tigers have one of the most talented offenses in the country, an experienced defense that is no longer coordinated by Bo Pelini and a healthy quarterback competition led by last year's opening day starter Myles Brennan. They have the potential to run the table but, since Ole Miss is so potent offensively, will miss out on the perfect regular season. With that said, over 8.5 wins is one of the best bets in the college football universe. Pick: Over 8.5 (+100)

I'll admit the SEC West is pretty wide open but Texas A&M should be better than Ole Miss. Also, if Bryce Young is even just a game manager, 'Bama will be one of the ones at the top of the West too. Booking anything in ink before at least seeing the teams in 2-4 games of action is just, well, silly.

“Texas A&M should be better than Ole Miss.” “Should be” is the TAMU motto every year

He has a point, the over 8.5 wins is a great value bet. Idk if I can get behind the 1 loss season without seeing the defense first though

I was going to say, “Wait, Ole Miss?” But the game from last year occurred to me and maybe they aren’t as bad as I think.

Not a bad prediction. I been saying watch out for Ole Miss this year, all they need is a bend but dont break type defense and they would be in the hunt for sure.

This will be one of those seasons where there will be no clear dominance in the SEC outside of maybe Bama. Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, A&M, and LSU are all capable. Maybe 2007 like.
