I’m so glad I don’t still live in La. Most uneducated state in the country. F’ing idiots.
Eat shrimp. Crawfish were cheap when they were a ‘roach of the sea’ nostalgia. Now that blue haired white women have grown an interest…go back to shrimp.

Has a rally or protest really solved or fixed anything?

Like women’s basketball, I saw it on TV once and stopped to see what the fuss was about. I lasted maybe 10 minutes and moved on to something else.

If you’ve ever been through a merger or even worse, an acquisition you realize pretty quick that all those late nights creating/implementing process improvements and streamlining means zilch. It all gets replaced with the other company’s software and what you thought was so important literally gets thrown in the trash.
Also people that hoard work thinking they’re creating job security are the first to go. We all know that guy. Works around the clock while everyone else is twiddling their thumbs trying to help, but all he does is keep everything to himself and bitch about burnout. Congrats, there’s the door a-hole. You may be missed for 2-3 weeks, then the company is fine.
Also, since I’ve been in more of an executive role, I’ve learned there’s isn’t much difference to the bottom line between employee’s C results and A+ results. We’re usually perfectly happy with C results if it means operating more lean with less overhead. All the goals and performance review stuff is bullshite to get you to work harder than you need to. If you’re demanding top level pay and keep asking for overpriced 3rd party help or software solutions then you’re a problem overspending for A results when a C will do fine in your non critical role or in some cases, critical roles.

Congrats on your participation trophies
Thanks. Actually have more winner type accolades, but I will say the few marathon/half marathon participation medals are my greatest achievements mentally. Training for and running a marathon in less than 4 hours was one of my most memorable experiences. I wish that experience for everyone. Just do it.

Good source I know said he was slaying prime arse on the nightly during Katrina.

Well, I don’t cheat on my family and also don’t drink. Don’t need somewhere to sneak away to and be a fat arse.

My wife and I share a house and are perfectly happy together. I’ve never understood the concept of a ‘man cave’.
Live a healthy life. Have never taken a prescription drug or needed to talk to a drug dealer at Walgreens.

The bigger question is why do people put up with it. Nobody has to be somewhere.
I cancelled my work trip this week and plan on cancelling next week if things don’t change. Nothing is that important to put yourself through that madness.

Thanks for the feedback but,
Maybe you should’ve never gained that 40lbs to lose. Why are humans so weak. Be healthy. It’s not that hard.

This just ain't true, man. Maybe it's just Baton Rouge.
I’ve seen Austin and Houston go to complete shite in the last decade. Covid exacerbated it. Austin esp. used to be a thriving downtown. Yea, there’s still a handful of purple haired white chicks and foreigners there, but it’s done. Add remote work capabilities and nobody with a family wants to live amongst the trash

Pretty much every small to big city downtown areas are becoming ghetto. Rep or Dem, people are tired of catering to homeless, uneducated, and fatherless raised people which all come with loads of crime and heartache.
‘Cool bars’ and sports arenas aren’t the answer. People are fed up and are willing to move as far away as they can for safety, education, and communities who have respect for others. See Houston rodeo. Nobody respectable who is actually raising a family wants to be around that trash, and by trash, we all know who we’re talking about.

Actually went through the process and had around $300 in rebates/deposits never claimed from random utility bills.
Took a couple weeks and got a check in the mail. Bought a nice swim bait/A-rig rod.
