Trying to get paid. It is a dumb thing to put when you announce you're leaving.

I'm divorcing my wife. Till death do us part. lol

Yeah, not sure why he would add “forever LSU” when he is abandoning the program.

Abandoning the program?
Maybe JJ told him his plans, and he wasn’t going to be a major part?

before the negative nancies come for me, kid had a lot of potential and some serious arm talent. sucks to lose him while still developing his skillset.

98 is honestly no longer “serious arm talent”. 98 mph in today’s game with all the technology, personal workout plans and nutrition is basically like a pitcher that could throw 93 mph in the big leagues 25 years ago. That would have been considered a good fastball back then but now 93 is merely average when you have guys running it up routinely 100 mph. If he could throw 98 but the pitch was flat with no movement it will get killed more than a 91 mph cutter.

If you leave and have not done anything ,then you have not done anything with your so called potential

This guy is talented and knows it. He has to be looking for some NIL money.

Obviously you have no idea what the kid is thinking about.

I hate to lose him, but if he’s determined to leave, he is admitting to the world he is not LSU material.

Just like Burrow wasn’t OSU material?

Burrow was a OSU grad. He didn’t transfer, he played out his remaining eligibility elsewhere.

You’re lucky if live 80 years on this earth, if you want to make 5 of them about you and where you play college baseball… then have at it. When it’s over and you gotta hang em up it’s a shitty feeling. So no regrets. And if he’s lucky enough to play ball after college, that’s when the real grind starts. If I’m him and it makes one or a few random fans butthurt, then they can go frick themselves

Right to Random LSU Hero. If he isn't getting the PT he wants, then go somewhere else. Prob not as good a program, but if takes getting opportunity/innings to get drafted. If he isn't getting here. Go somewhere else. I'd do same.

Don’t hit the portal and say “Forever LSU”, just say it wasn’t working here for you and move on

You don't think he wished it would have worked out? He was most likely encouraged to find somewhere else to play...

It’s the time of year when JJ talks to each player and lets him know where he stands. It is what it is.
