Nick Saban didn't hold back when San Francisco QB Brock Purdy visited Alabama prior to enrolling at Iowa State...

It clicked for Brock later in life.

Maybe he wasn’t wrong at the time. And, maybe, that inspired Purdy to get better

This reads like a Michael Jordan quote

His job is to evaluate players for his program and that's what he did. Purdy is the Stetson Bennet of nfl right now. OK qb on a team with tons of weapons.

That “ok” QB has out played every QB he has faced. You can try to minimize it however you want, but stats don’t lie.

He is a game manager type of qb. He has thrown for over 250 yds twice this season. He doesn’t turn the ball over and that’s all you have to do when you have the best defense in the league.

All that aside, he’s a purdy good quarterback.

Let’s not put the young man in the hall of fame yet, and I guarantee you that Nick Saban didn’t say “your arm strength is whatever.”

Little Nicky being honest. Uh, not totally believing that one...

The same guy that took Culpepper over Brees

That's revisionist. Saban wanted Brees; Miami medical staff wouldn't sign off and the front office wouldn't green light the move.

Saban still offered Purdy a scholarship to play QB at Alabama

Saban wasn’t wrong, but I’d take Purdy over Prescott.

Looked more than average accuracy last night. He was on point. What can't be measured is will and that's what Purdy has. It's what made Brady who he is also.

I bet the full accurate quote was something more like “you don’t have all measurables that NFL scouts look for so come to Bama and be surrounded by NFL talent that will make you look good”.

Qb development and self esteem are never mentioned in the same sentence with saban. Too many qbs have gone down that road i.e. Blake Barnett & Jalen, etc

All you have to do is look at the last weekends game to see how inexact a science recruiting QB's out of high school is. Only Lawrence was a 5 star. Mahomes, Hurts and Burrow were 4 star power 5 recruits, but certainly not wanted by everyone (Hurts wasn't the highest rated QB on Bama's roster). Dak, Jones, Allen and Purdy were much lower recruits, recruited by lower level or non power 5 schools

Les Miles told Dak Prescott he was being recruited as an athlete not as a QB. Do you still miss Les?

Les was right. Dak blows.

LOL! Dak is the luckiest SOB in the world. Jerry is senile. He's too addle-brained to recognize that Dak is not an asset to The Cowboys, and too stupid to realize that 2016 was a terrible year for draft QB's. Dak is the only QB drafted that year still with the team that drafted them. Jared Goff at Detroit (drafted by the Rams) is far and away superior to Dak. Hell, Jacoby Brissett may be better than Dak.

Dak had first bad season in the nfl. LSU was playing J Lee and Jordan Jefferson at QB instead of Dak. Les was not right no matter how trendy you are trying to be now.

Height is the only thing that can’t be fixed. Arm strength and accuracy can be developed by a good coach

Diminutive former Miami Dolphins head coach was short sighted.

Young men need to be told this. They don’t need everyone telling them how great the are all the time. I think this was actually a positive for him if he is still talking about it. It must have given him a chip on his shoulder.
