I’m in the markets some, but I’ve invested in hard assets much more over the years.
My ex-FIL got me into buying guns and leaving them boxed new as part of that strategy. There are a lot of them and watches that have outpaced the markets.
Too bad they all were lost in the boating accident. Dang my luck.

I did for one kid because he had a zero credit rating. When he was 19 he applied for a car loan and the bank was floored. They said it was like he didn’t exist to the ratings agency. He had never done anything with credit and was already in the army.
Here we are 8 or so years later and he sits at an over 800. He’s never missed a payment on a thing.

I am no AI expert but am embracing much of what it offers. It’s going to be more difficult in someways for younger people because they don’t realize how easy it is to spot stuff created by AI.
I have a younger analyst that works for me and was asked a question by a client about his work product. The analyst’s answer was straight up AI - the client didn’t know but I did. His answer included opining about certain discounted cash flow models and which rates to use - shite I’ve dealt with for 30 years but things this analyst had yet to see.
If the client would have asked even a simple follow up question the analyst would have been exposed.
That’s one danger - AI can make you look smarter than you are and then when you need to explain you can’t.

There’s not much within reason I want to do that I haven’t. There’s a few things that I consider from time to time - like spending 2-4 months in the Holy Land or Rome, but even those I could do now if I had a driving desire to do them.
I guess I still haven’t killed a nice mature bull elk, but I have had 8-9 years in elk camp now with solid opportunities most of those years.
If you said right now you’re on your death bed what is your one thing I’d answer if that room has my 7 kids, their spouses and my grandchildren all making noise while Paw Paw slips off to the next realm, I’d be good with that.
Man, I really need to be more thankful.
