With this week's announcement that the Texas vs. Alabama game will be played on FOX, many are assuming the game will kick off at noon ET and 11 a.m. in Austin. So, some Longhorns fans aren't having it and have created a petition in attempt to convince FOX to schedule the game at night...

Fox should definitely make it an 11 am game or 2:30. Getting wilted in the heat watching their whorns lose is what they deserve.

Lol a rapelor fan trying to say other teams deserve karma

The bars and restaurants in downtown Austin get kicked in the teeth when a game is held that early. The city of Austin should complain loudly about this. I bet it cost the city's many vendors millions in lost revenue when they have an early game like that.

Oh noooooo!!!!! So some other college town should get kicked in the teeth instead? Probably towns that need it more than Austin?

it's all about money. When they signed the Fox TV contract for big dollars, they also gave up the rights to when to play the games. It's TV dollars (and the contract) that rule here. If Texas (or any other school) wants to control when they play, then don't sign the big TV deal. Of course, that'll never happen.

F them. 11am or noon kickoff will be just what they need.

Texas rolling into the SEC thinking they can run rough shod like they did in the Big12 will be entertaining to see.

when did they do this in the Big12?
user avatar
Mid Iowa Tiger23 months
@deltatiger let's see - location of league offices, rotating the BBall championships to Dallas even though attendance and league locations show KC to be the best location, securing their own TV deal which negatively impacted to conference deal, figuratively stomping their feet every couple of years like petulant child to get more concessions from the front office. This ll from a team that when they joined the Big 8 were the orphan with no where to go. I freaking hate UT with a white hot passion.

@mid Iowa tiger lol we can tell. Despite the fact that maybe half of those points are even true, sorry that Texas is more capable at getting business done than the other big 12 teams. This entire post of yours just sounds like sour grapes

fox changes game to 8pm. Bama rolls 45-13 lmao
user avatar
I mean... Bama is going to roll regardless of the kickoff time. Might as well have it at 91 degrees instead of 106 degrees lol

Now that we have to purchase 10 espn channels, sec network, big network, endless other add on packages to simply watch football play the game at 8pm, and let the market decide what they want to watch. frick burning alive in the stands at 1pm, but more importantly frick wearing pads and helmets at 1pm in Texas. Pencil pushers making these decisions have never been that hot a day in their lives

It was 100 degrees in Austin during the day before the game when LSU played there. It would have been brutal if the game was during the day.

Hopefully Alabama fans create a petition to keep the game at Noon E.T.

Day games belong in the big 10.

Bad move TX. Your best bet to beat Bama is in 112 degree heat.
