re: Ben Miles to Southern Tight Ends coach

Good luck to him and SU but I thought he’d be connected enough to find a better job.
re: Devil’s advocate question: if Kiffin is so great, why are current LSU coaches not staying?

Lsu had a better defense. Ole miss had a better offense. We are basically trading our offensive staff for their offensive staff.

From reading some ww2 biographies , a lot of them mention the Americans had a lot more in common with the German people than the Russians or French and maybe even the English. And were surprised as they made their way through Europe, seeing that the Germans were orderly, disciplined, and civilized , not the bloodthirsty devils they were told. And the Russians in particular were the uncivilized savages they were also not expecting. (Obviously this is the rank and file soldiers and civilians, not the Nazi war criminals. )

At least part of BK’s problem was he couldn’t relate to southern players. ( Aranda talked about this adjustment when he came from Wisconsin). We have a different type of dogs than the “student athletes” he coached at ND and that’s why he was saying certain players were “uncoachable” and stuff like that. It was a bad fit because of this, not because of his accent or being from the northeast or any of that stuff. Miles figured it out and was loved by his players.

You definitely need to keep your kids away from that guy.

MVB would be better with kiffin. Probably even a serviceable sec qb. But kiffin could probably pull a qb with heisman potential out of the portal ,once he gets in his system.

Brian Kelly is availlable.
re: Outside the box solution to the bowls.

I like it. Week 1 bowls would be awesome. Every team would start out with a decent matchup and then rankings come out after that. Then 12-16 team playoff at the end of the season going to campus stadiums. NC still rotates between the big 4 bowls.
I like the tradition of the bowls but it can’t coexist with playoffs. Also you wouldn’t see the opt outs.

Ole miss is a sinking ship. No reason for him to go back there unless they want him to be HC.

I agree let the old BCS computers rank 16 teams and let it rip.
Was always the best system because it eliminated human bias, and rewarded strength of schedule so it encouraged the good out of conference matchups.

The whole Judge thing is weird. He seems to be staying and is the only one with head coaching experience, but apparently doesn't want the gig or even to call offensive plays.
He probably knows its a no-win situation. Following up the best 6 year span in program history along with the mass exodus they are about to have. Maybe he has his eye on another head coaching job or wants back to the NFL.

Also just a reminder that David Ortiz did roids too and they still let him in.
But Papi was chummy with the media. Arod, Bonds, Clemens, Schilling, McGwire were not. Its time to let someone other than the scorned overly-emotional sportswriters vote.

Tell your grandson that people only had 3 fingers back then and thats why the glove looks like that.

Should put him in that HS relations spot that coach Baglio used to have.

Underwood’s going to be the poster boy for getting too much $ too soon, and hindering development. What 18-19 year old with $13 million is going to wake up and work hard everyday ?

Flynn and Hester were talking about this on the radio and sounds like this wasnt the case with Williams at all. Said he told them the LSU schedule wasnt much more than he had at Ruston when he got here and he sounded kinda surprised/disappointed by that. Maybe he's burned out on BK half assing things.

Goal is obvious. Hit the portal hard and pay lots of money to get the best available players that can contribute immediately. Less emphasis on high school kids. I don’t like it but that’s the best approach and the reality of cfb now.
re: When did you change your mind about Kiffin?
Posted by EvrybodysAllAmerican on 12/3/25 at 7:30 pm to cajuntiger1010
I came around on him when I saw the other available options for us to hire.
My preference would be a Saban-like arse kicker instead of kiffin’s social media schtick. But he’s a great play caller and it should be a fun ride at least. And he’s a modern style coach that appreciates the portal, nil, etc which we need going forward. Also I’ve been watching more of his interviews and pod cast appearances this week and he’s more likeable than I realized once you kinda get to know him. Or maybe that’s just because he’s in purple and gold now.

Playing golf during the season is laughable. Good high school coaches don’t even do that.

One of the first coaches they talked to was Urban Meyer. They might have thought they could make that happen and why they made the move early on Franklin, to try to be the first to scoop up Urban. Then supposedly they couldnt agree on NIL packages. Im also surprised his name didnt come up at Florida.
