Oh God when are people going to grow up. Are they going to penalize Texas when they give the Horns Up hand? Wouldn't that be taunting towards their opponent?

You didn't read the tweet. It's only when directed at a player, or falls under the rule of taunting. It's no different than doing the gator chomp or the gay arse landshark thing Ole Miss tried to do

I don’t get the responses in here. I read this as it’ll be penalized just like if you would normally taunt a player but if you score a TD or are in the sidelines it won’t ?

well i think the issue is the call will be subjective to if the ref gets his feelings hurt or not

I think that's correct. Sack the QB then stand over him doing horns down... probably a penalty... but it's also a penalty if you stood over the guy doing a superman pose or something.

He should have just said "no it is just like any other gesture or celebration" and left it at that.

My dream matchup is a Florida-Texas no holds barred taunt fest. Nothing but horns down and gator chomps as far as the eyes can see!

Good. I wasn't going to do it if it wasn't offensive.

Just say we are going to enforce our preexisting rules on taunting and call it a day

Sounds like horns down is allowed as long as it’s not done as a personal taunt. Poor little lib Longhorns may get he/his feelings hurt

Texas literally does the opposite of what a parent would tell a child to do when someone is teasing them at school.

I’m totally fine with this, as long as they throw a flag for horns up also. Seems equitable don’t you agree?

Unbelievable. We don’t want to make those poor babies cry. I still acn’t believe they and Oklahoma were allowed into the conference.

SEC officials have too much time on their hand if they're even considering for one second trying to penalize opposing teams for the hands down signal. They just need to STFU!
