I chuckled when I first saw the video but thought it was kind of messed up. Shadeur is a douche but not like he's a criminal.

The potential buyer pool must be extremely small for a property that expensive in cost and ongoing maintenance combined with having to live in a rural area of a rural state.

That's interesting. I've never had that at a company and I def would take advantage of this.
My job let's us accrue a max of 300 hours and I have like 290 something. If I leave, it's paid out but I have no plans to do so

This is true. I was basing it off the private schools in my area. Which starts around $17k per year in kindergarten.
We already pay $35k per year for two in Daycare. It would definitely be a benefit if we decide to send our kids to private school but it doesn't feel like what's best for everyone

Texas doesn't have state income tax but there is the dependent care FSA on the federal level that allows you to set aside $5k without tax for daycare. I don't think it allowed for private schools but a simple fix.

Texas recently passed a school voucher plan that will essentially provide an annual payment of $8 - $10k from the state to the accounts of eligible children to be used for approved education-related expenses like private school tuition, pre-k, tutoring etc.
In larger metro cities where there are more private schools I could see this being a positive for some families who maybe are on the fringe of being able to afford private schools and need a little extra.
But if you live in a rural area and there aren't private schools available then wouldn't this just reduce the available funds for public schools? Or reduce the amount available to kids whose parents can't afford private school tuition even with a voucher in the larger cities?
