Wishful thinking I know but it would be epic if they pulled off something like scheduling Ohio State or some other Top 10 team.

Rusty Mansel (sp) says 99% chance there will be no game.

Yep, no one short of a lower league team is going schedule a short notice game and come to Athens to get their arse kicked for our Senior Day.

I'm sure the SEC front office provides a hurdle since no other team has played an OOC game.

Rumor: Iowa

Now this would be a great matchup with the way they have been playing!

I was surprised they were seriously talking about finding another opponent with all the COVID #'s spiking. I'm still waiting to get the money refunded from Stubhub for the Vandy game.

Objectively, Vandy coping out was highly predictable weeks ago. As such, you would think would have line up a contingency plan with an OOC opponent. But at least we got through the season without major Covid-19 impact.

We have different definitions of the word "impact".

We were basically that dude who is really nice, polite... always does the right thing...and would give any friend his shirt off his back... and the SEC is our whore wife.

Yup.

I think the SEC clearly fricked up when crafting the rules. If Vandy was willing to waive the need for minimum number of players, it should have been for all games, not on a game by game basis.

Losing a QB that could have lead us to an undefeated season isn’t impactful? How about the scheduling changes?

I think we lost our QB in internal compliance and Covid was the excuse, which goes to my point.

Probably.

If you believe Newman when he said he was quitting because of China virus, I have some beachfront property in Iowa to sell you.

I believe Newman cost himself millions of dollars. A year of throwing to Pickens, Jackson, and Burton in this Monken offense could have done wonders for him.
