Last year he was a huge talent and NFL bound in 3 years. This year he should be benched.
People have no patience.
Florida ran off Will Grier and sure wish they had him back right now.

Again, I understand them wanting to see more of Fields. So do I. He looks to be a great talent. But I think we need to bring him along slowly and let him learn. Maybe he will be ready next year, but I haven't seen anything that indicates he is ready right now.

I don’t think we should wait until 2 losses because the season is over at that point. We should have played the last game like we had to win because we really can’t afford more than 1 loss. LSU was playing for their season and we should have and still should be playing that way. Waiting until we’re out of the race to put in Fields is pointless to me.

Which is why we should wait until then. You take a chance on Fields and find out he isn't ready, and you have sat the QB that took you there the year before.

Granted, if Fromm has another really bad game like last Saturday, then all best are off. But right now, at this point he is our best hope.

Except you will be putting a true freshman into a situation in which he can succeed...and if he doesn't no big loss. You put him in nopw and if he isn't ready, he won't forget and it could set him back in his development. Fans turn on a QB fast. Remember what happened with Murray?

I may have come off as criticizing you, but that was not my intent. not at all. I get what everyone is saying. I would like to see more of Fields, too.

I don’t think that at all. I think he played very badly, has been average all season in as advantageous of a situation as any UGA QB since Buck Belue, and should be subject to getting his starting job taken if he continues to struggle.

Fields does have the capability of taking them down field and then score. Lets not limit him to the red zone

He might but the point is that he's been very effective
as a red zone option this year and as bad as Fromm played vs LSU we still might have won or made the game
much closer had we put Fields in the 3 times we got inside their 35 yard line and came away with 3 points.

Then invited back as a walk-on, then kicked off the team again. And then killed, just to be sure.

There doesn't seem to be much distinction between "unhappy with his performance at LSU" and "intense and irrational hatred".

The NCAA suspended Grier for a full year. Grier wanted his HC to guarantee he would be the starter after that full year was up. When he was told he would have to win the job back after being off a year he left. Grier ran off. He didn't get run off.

Last time we played against a Grantham-coached defense, Chubb got 270 yards rushing and set a Belk Bowl record. Last time we played a strong running team with Grantham coaching our defense was the 2012 SECCG...and Alabama got 350 on the ground alone.

We can run on this defense...we just have to hope that Chaney doesn't panic and stop running the ball like he did last week.

I don't think you understand Grantham's defense.
It is designed to shut down a great running team. He did that at UGA continuously. He wins the line of scrimmage with numbers.

How do you beat that? You back the numbers off the line of scrimmage by hitting the vertical passing game.
In the SECCG, it was Calvin Ridley taking the top off and our run defense collapsing in the second half.
In the Mississippi State game, the first play was a flea flicker.

If Grantham has to defend the full field, the run defense collapses and is a worthless pile of dawg crap. An awful University of Tennessee offense ran all over our Grantham defense. They had Tyler Bray taking shots downfield to Justin Hunter, Cordarele Patterson, and the TE Ryvera. The result was them rushing for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns (usually, we held teams way below their average... unless they had vertical threats which made our D useless to the pass or run)

Continuously? His rushing defense in '12 was the worst
in UGA modern history

Buffalo 200 yards rushing
UK (horrible) 200 + yards rushing
Georgia Southern 300+ yards rushing
Georgia Tech 300+ yards rushing
Alabama 350+ yards rushing
Nebraska 230+ yards rushing

Plus didn’t we smoke his arse against Louisville when we were down a head coach?

We did but that was '14 and CMR was still the HC...'15
is when we played PSU with MClendon as HC.

CTG does seem to be blitzing more than I can ever remember this year.Hope we take advantage and Fromm is gonna have to make some quick reads.

Did Fromm play poorly? Yes. But the game didn't get away from us quickly. It was 3-0 at the end of the first quarter.

16-0 at half, so almost quickly.

They ran for 197, 55 of which were from a wr, Patterson.

There's zero chance Fields starts against Florida and Holyfield and Swift are not going to get more carries. Those two are not going to have the gumption Chubb and Sony had in '16 to call out Chaney.

I think we'll beat Florida, but it's going to have to be because of the defense, and either Fromm pulling his head out of his arse, or him playing horribly again and forcing Kirby's hand to actually give Fields a shot. This staff has shown several times over their 2.5 years that they're not going to do anything different. Guys are just going to have to start playing better, which I think they will.
