It is just about the syrup—no Dreamers here in my hood to speak of at the moment.

I worked for both stores at different times and still have friends who have worked their way up at both chains. 25 years ago HD was geared towards contractors because they brought in a large chunk of their money and still do today. Lowe’s knew to compete with that they had to go a different route so they focused on the wives knowing most men don’t have a preference for where they shop. HD has made some improvements in that regard but it’s still true for both companies today about who they are trying to attract.
HD use to have a ton of knowledgeable workers but they have made business decisions that dwindled it down. Both places don’t really have many “experts” in the store although that will fluctuate between each store.

I'm sure each has their own way of marketing and it does suck that HD ran off those associates from a while back.
BTW I had a couple of buddies who got jobs there after college in the mid 80's and one of the guy's now ex wife hounded him about the hours he was working so he quit and became a contractor. The other one stuck it out, obviously did very well with his stock options and is now retired on lake Rabun.

Pickup worked like a charm. I pulled into the pickup lane. Called them number. Gave them my order number. They said wait a few minutes. I thought "here we go" but in less than one Blues Traveler song on 97.7, they were carting out my stuff, along with a loading helper (which I declined). I didn't have to sign anything, they just emailed my receipt. And they had every single item, none of the ol' "sorry this item was out of stock" that I've had from other store pickup issues.
I don't think I'll ever enter a Lowe's again. My Loganville store did good. Your local results may vary.
May I also add that the Loganville tractor supply pickup system also works great. Your local results may vary.

Lowe's is usually less expensive than Home Depot & Home Depot is usually more organized and has their shite together a lot more, at least for contractors...
If you are doing a larger project, you should set up a pro account and purchase through the pro desk; this is true for both of them
as long as you are spending over $1,000 (maybe $1,500 depending on the store); if you make the request they will run your purchase through QSP (quote system something?)
discounts can be up to 20%
plus, at Lowe's if you sign up as a pro, they will deliver anything for $25 if it is within something like 100 miles from the store
I am a cheapskate, so I normally shop at Lowe's...

Good luck with that.

Reputable contractors never set foot in a Lowes or Home Depot. We have distributors and wholesalers, as well as our own small inventory back at the shop for "last minute" items we might need, left over from previous jobs.
pro-Tip- if your contractor ever says "we gotta run by HD/Lowes real quick" you need another contractor.

Loganville home depot... never pooped there

This is simply untrue, especially when it come to things like lumber, blocks, tools and landscape supplies

When I lived in Atlanta the area in the 1970s, I was helping a buddy that needed some part that had broken off his utility trailer. We hit Lowes, Ace and HD to no avail, but a clerk in Ace told us to go to a hardware store in old downtown Norcross. This place looked like grandpas old general store. The clerk looked in several dusty places and said they didn't have the part, but they could make one. He called my buddy a few days later and they had made it.

I hit my local hardware store M-F.
Best small engine repair in the county. And buying everything else there supports local families.
I don't have anything against the big boys. Bought my refrigerator at Lowes and a crap ton of ryobi from home depot (tons of straw and mulch as well). But everything else can be handled 2 minutes from my house at the local hardware store.

Of all your posts, what percentage do you estimate were made while sitting on a commode at Home Depot?

Sticky thread idea:
-Griffin dawg gets his own permanent thread to pontificate, discuss current events, etc etc posting exclusively from atop a commode. At an ATL area Home Depot
