Duke Lacrosse was an example of a DA out for more than justice and out of their depth. Those types certainly exist but it’s not necessarily the norm.

To be clear, too, charges don’t mean guilt. Guilt means guilt and there’s a ways to go for that to be confirmed

Seems as if the Athens police, etc, has something out for players. Or maybe I've just read things wrong over the years.

Of course, sometimes charges do mean guilt. It's not like rape allegations haven't come up in the college football world before.

Interesting that even in egregious cases, the defense claim is almost always the same: The female was drunk and wanted sex.

My takeaway from this is that everyone should always video all of their sexual encounters.

No DA likes to bring charges and lose. It tarnishes their already dubious reputation

Charges can lead to confirmation of guilt. Don’t put words in my mouth. My point is that I’m not jumping to the conclusion that just because charges are filed means that due process has concluded and a verdict rendered (precisely because of cases like Duke Lacrosse).

I mean, consent is the heart of the matter so of course a defense usually starts with the antithesis of “it was not consensual.” Both sides can usually agree intercourse occurred, the question is always was it consensual between both parties and is there evidence to confirm that sentiment one way or the other.

That's the thing. What's to prevent a truly consensual act from becoming "rape" if the person is angry?

Regarding the DA not filing charges yet, that means nothing because this new ACC DA is in way over her head and is basically incompetent. If you follow Athens news, you'd know that both liberals and conservatives hate her. She's like the Brandon of DA's. Don't read anything into the fact the DA hasn't charged him, nor should you read much into the fact if she does charge him. It's like wondering where your dog is going to shite today.

Interesting. I live no where near Athens so I am not familiar with the local DA's office.

I personally haven’t seen or heard too much of that around this case. Seems like Anderson has a pretty solid reputation and this took a lot of people by surprise. I’m sure there are plenty who exist jumping to bury him under the jail because he is a football player (same as there are plenty jumping to clear him of wrongdoing because he is a football player) but neither seems to be swaying public opinion as far as I can tell

Back to OP-

I don't buy into this Walk of Shame crap.

I have had many a girl walk out of my room full of shame but they never marched to the police station to fill out a rape report.

That's why conducting a proper exit poll is so vital to any one night stand's operation

Tactless and clunky as it may seem, get a text or a snap or something on record confirming consent before you sleep with someone. That’s about all that can be done short of hoping someone isn’t low down enough to rape you or lie about being raped.

This is the best advice for anyone.

It's tough in college because you're just dumb, drunk, and H'd the frick up. But missing out on some sex is a lot better than getting some below average drunk sex, just to get hit with rape charges down the line.

If you're not able to snag some proof of consent, your next best wish is just to hope whiskey dick comes through to bail you out.

You could create an app.
Click to consent.
And then you can leave a review of how it was afterward. Kind of like rating uber drivers.

Clunky?

Hell no. Leave me a 5 star please.
