Every post on here is conjecture, so here's mine -- at least some of the feedback that Haselwood is getting about our program has to be coming from the two Cedar Grove guys on our roster, Netori Johnson and Schaffer.

You will still have to compete and win the job. Of you are a competitor, that should not bother you.

Laugh my arse off if Riley ends up at the cowboys.

“used car salesmen “ is the vernacular for folks his parents age or what other coaches would be putting in his ear. The irony though is a lot of these kids want the used car salesman treatment.

It was certainly pervasive when I was being recruited. Old dudes trying to relate to me and sell my folks at the same time. The smart ones were able to figure out what you reacted well to. Some just kept up with the same schtick...likely due to them either being low IQ or just not really good salesman. Even as a 16 and 17 year old, I sensed it and was embarrassed for them.

My parents would have beat the hell out of me if I tried to pull the hat thing or spoke publicly about other coaches or teams in a negative way. The internet and the need for clicks probably gives a lot of this behavior it’s wheels. It’s all very sad to me. I feel bad that the kids have such shitty parenting or lack of it.

Probably because of the way they used Fields, he probably felt like they promised him he would be given every opportunity to start, but then didn’t really give him the chance by only letting him hand off all the time
Have you watched any games this past season or looked at the stats? Fields got a lot of quality playing time and a lot of snaps where he wasn’t just handing the ball off.

BTW, Fromm handed the ball off a lot, too. That’s the kind of offense we run.

I watched the “show” and he came off like an entitled a-hole and his mother was just as much a part of it as he was.

Over / Under on him wanting a transfer within 2 years and trashing his current team.

I don’t see how this statement clarifies it. Almost makes it more annoying. Haha.

IMO, it actually makes him look worse. People can be so full of BS when they "clarify" their statement.

I hope we does well for himself, but I’m afraid his attitude will mess him up.

Character starts at home. These kids are a product of their upbringing.

Look at Fields' entitlement and then look at some of his family's statements and actions... Enough said.

He'll learn or he won't. I'm glad I didn't have social media when I was his age. Of course, I wasn't the top rated H.S. WR in the Nation either, which I'm sure can complicate things.

Like I said, he'll learn or he won't. Not our concern anymore.
