That didn't take long.

I would take a one year mercenary hire in exchange for a 'ship all day everyday.

The melt would have been amazing if they lost though lol

Yep, all it takes is perfect alignment of the stars.....
Auburn is the perfect contrast: one season you don't win a single SEC game; another season you catch lighting in a bottle with Cam Newton and win a NC.

Monken sounds like a great hire, but would he come here without the OC title and play calling duties. Money talks, so one can hope.

How about we give Coley a fake headset and give Monken the real one?

Friend of mine read on the Vent that two planes from Cleveland are in route to Athens and they have a man on the ground to see if Monken is in one of them.

Edit: looks like a false alarm

Flight times got changed. I'm sure the vent will send somebody back out at the new arrival times lol.

This would be a GREAT move. However NFL OC to college Co-OC is a massive step down.

Only if the money is less, which I doubt. Not to mention any of the big time college programs frankly out draw the NFL and can match them or out bid them for coaches.

In the end, it is as simple as choice..

He went to the NFL for a reason and so did Joe Brady, chance to prove yourself against the best.

And Co-OC and OC are not the same.

OBJ is coming to give a lecture to boosters on bumping up those hundred dollar handshakes to a few grand.

Mike LaFleur or The monkey guy seem like unrealistic coups.

Still,

I was driving home from the grocery store a bit ago and Jon Chuckery on 92.9 just interviewed Schlabach, and he just said again that Todd Monken is Kirby’s prime candidate for the open offensive coaching position. And then added that Monken, himself, supposedly said he’s wanting to move back to the college ranks and he’s not happy in the NFL.

My question is, if he’s coming here, WTF are we waiting on? Why hasn’t it happened yet? Dude has been out of a job now for nearly 3 weeks.

Probably trying to figure out how to hire him without hurting Coley's feelings.

Monken isn't coming here to play second fiddle to a coach he is vastly superior too. I think playcalling is non-negotiable after he just finished a season in Cleveland where he was not allowed to call plays.

Possibly signing day if Coley's spot is at risk

I get it, but still kinda shitty if that's the case.
