I only mentioned Rumph because I thought he recruited SC for y'all. I may have been wrong on that

Whussup bro

He was very close I believe to taking the Southern Miss job a couple years ago and backed out last minute. He is a lot better candidate than I think he is perceived as because of a lot of the behind the scenes duties he has been delegated by Saban (more than any other assistant under Saban). I think there is no discussion though if some dominoes fell and he was offered an SEC job (maybe not Vandy but I think he'd still consider) and if somehow UGA opened he'd easily walk from Ttown to Athens to take that job I can almost guarantee. On the flip of that, Saban seems to have delegated personnel decisions (I didn't think there was any way Saban would take back Lance, but he was a good friend of Kirby's) and allowed him even to make some decisions on players as well (Holcombe is a great example, he is a guy who Bama doesn't offer a couple years ago, he is a smaller OLB who could be very helpful as a Sam LB against HUNH teams) so there has been a whole lot of delegation to Kirby sort of seemingly setting the situation up for Saban to retire and Kirby to take over (hopefully) in a couple years IMHO.

A name to watch coming down the stretch is Travonte Valentine, DT who just decommitted from Miami. Was the best interior DL at the Army game. LSU is the team to beat, but he's open at this point

In other news, there's a rumor going around that Alvin Kamara was telling recruits not to go to Alabama while they were on official visits.

Is he another in a growing line of UGA sleeper agents?

Kamara commuting to Bama might end up being a good thing for Georgia. That town puts out good recruits and we ahould be attempting to pipeline it but Georgia misses on recruits from there pretty often. Landing Zo Carter will be a step in the right direction. Can someone explain to me why Georgia misses on recruits in Carver?

Carver Columbus? Part of the reason is Carver is deadly close to Opelika. Another is that UGA hasn't had the best run of recruiting the school, what with Gabe Wright being a fat douche on his visit, Crow being Crow, Deion Bonner being a thief on his visit, and our coaches generally just dropping the ball when it comes to notifying high schoolers that they don't have a commitable offer.

Carver Columbus? The Isaiah Crowell debacle didn't help things. Cootie Harrow as well. Their staff also doesn't like UGA because we pulled an offer to their QB (Burns I think) when he tried to commit.

The relationship between UGA and Carver is just not good at this point

Eta - durden beat me to it. I forgot to mention Deion Bonner and Marquis Hawkins

Damn. :(. I thought us taking in Jarvis Jones would have helped heal that a little bit. Those big schools in our state being pipelines for other teams is not good.

Jarvis is the only player to come out of there recently that could stay out of trouble. Most of the Carver players are radioactive. Isaiah Crowell was a choirboy compared to most of those guys. AU, Bama, UT, etc. can have them

Is the kid from carver that is commited to Bama next year a thug as well? I don't know that team or community as we'll as some but it seems like they are always good. My high school lost to them two years in a row in the dome and we almost beat Buford one year . :(.

It seems like they have some shady kids for sure but with all things for every bad apple there may be a few good ones.

I don't know anything about him specifically, and I'm sure that there are some really good kids on the team. UGA's just had enough bad experiences that I think it's probably time to move on. There are plenty of high schools with really good players.

Didn't we lead with this guy a while before he committed to Miami? Or was one of his top schools. I seem to remember us being involved with him

Most of those guys need to go to schools where the punishment for indiscretions involves rugs.

Well, problem there is we didn't even get him out of Carver. It was USC that got him.

Yea but we gave him a shot when USC wouldn't. That should have helped us in their eyes. Not that I care. Jarvis was the exception to the gang school that is Carver.

Wesley Green will be in Athens this weekend. He will not have any contact with coaches as it is still a dead period, however he will be hanging out with the players (Most notably Shaq Wiggins). This will not take the place of his official visit that he will still take on either 24th or 31st. Seems as though UGA is in a good position for him.

He might be at UGA soon likely will be booted off the team rather soon

Seems like the OV weekend when we had Zach Whitley (flipped to UCLA), Hootie (decommitted only to later recommit), Jalen Tabor (frickING STUD that Bama perceived to have the lead for after Saban's in-home then chose Arizona over Bama), and Brian Wallace (same as Tabor, chose Arkansas)

He did something of that nature and was suspended for the BG for "actions detrimental to the team" and wasn't the only one, for Kamara it wasn't his 1st offense, his 3rd
