Who here is a fan of Aggie baseball?

Was by the park today and saw the Aggies practicing. I know it's basketball season but as a Gamecock you better believe I love me some college baseball so I just wanted to see what the Aggie support was on here.
You guys have a beautiful ballpark. A quick wiki search says that you guys, we ( ), were doing really well in your last years in the Big12 but have dropped off a bit since joining the SEC. With that said, there are very few schools that really care about baseball, and A&M jumped right into a division where 4 schools put a lot of emphasis on winning in baseball, and the other two at least have a half-assed effort.
I hope A&M does well this year. I plan to go to a few games this year as an Aggie (wish had gotten that sports pass), but I can't wait until SC comes to town.

I am. We aren't quite on the level of LSU, South Carolina, Arkansas etc level support but we are still usually top 10 in attendance. We get good crowds for big weekend series and the student section is very active.
There's several more of us on here and I'm sure they will chime in but we are kind of at a crossroads with Childress. If we shite out in a regional again I think it's time for a change. He's had his success but as you said we have regressed in recent years and the potential of our program is tremendous with our facilities and proximity to a shitload of high school talent (sounds familiar right?)

Has there been a reprieve for your coach considering he did join the 1 conference and the 1 division that really cares about baseball? Not that it's an excuse or that "it takes years to compete in the almighty SEC".. but it had to be some kind of step up from what you guys were playing against right? Besides Texas, and to a lesser extent Oklahoma, who else cared about baseball in the Big 12?

Baylor had some good teams as well but it's true not much of the conference cared about baseball
We made the CWS in 2011 and supers in 07 and 08, the past two years we've sweated out making the field til the end of the year and not advanced past regionals. We disappointed with quite a bit of talent in 2012 with guys like Wacha Stripling and Naquin and since then I think most here would agree its obvious the talent level of the program has taken a step back. I was okay with giving Childress another year I guess but people are starting to get antsy. I think a lot of people expected the group from 2011 and 12 to vault us into that next tier of baseball schools and we've kind of fallen back to the pack since.

dabomanofAggieland is probably the biggest Aggie baseball fan on tArk and really knows his shite. He hasn't posted in a long while, though. Hopefully he'll be back as the season heats up.
I need to make a game at BBP one of these years. They renovated Olsen after my time in school.

I don't keep up with it much, but when I was in school I went to several. They are a blast, plus one of my boys is over concessions so I always ate free which was nice.

Can't wait for baseball season.
Looking forward to our series Aggies. Wish I was still in Texas so I could swing by and check out the park. I hear great things.

I am a huge fan! I basically lived at Olsen my first year on campus and was a semi regular the next 3 years. I try to come back as much as often. I love the club at Olsen now. I always try to get club seats when I go now, but can usually only find them for crappier games.

Me!
True story from my college days.
We were playing Gaylor and kicking the shite out of their bullpen, when they finally had to put in an unusually fat relief pitcher. The heckling (which is usually at level 10, 100% of the time) went to 11. Dudes started heckling in Cartman voices. Somebody happened to have a box of twinkies on hand and passed them around. The whole student section is shaking twinkies at fat pitcher and talking in Cartman, trying to distract fatty. Epic. Britches-shitting. I miss Aggie baseball.

Absolutely amazing. Heckling in Cartman voices and shaking twinkies at a fat pitcher
When I was at school in the late 2000s, the big heckling victory was against Missouri (I think). Aggie Alley really, really did their research on this outfielder. They knew that he'd been drafted in like the 45th round by the Twins, his family members' name, what his joke major was, etc. They gave it to this kid so hard that in one of the later innings, he turned completely around (so that he was facing away from the plate!) and started screaming at the fans and challenging them to meet him behind the visitor's dugout after the game.
He was still turned around, yelling at fans when the pitcher threw a pitch. That's right. An outfielder missed a freaking pitch because he was busy challenging fans to fight him after the game. It was the Michaelangelo's David of sports heckling.

I'll be at JRTC for the first month of the season and downrange for the Supers and CWS.

So I'm getting an unofficial partial season tix on the 2nd row, club seats, right by the on deck circle.
For those local in CS, I might need company Tuesday nights.

Had season tickets for ten years but haven't been in about 4 years now. Gonna try to go to a few games this year if I can get off. Been working 84 hours for a while now but with O&G struggling that's probably gonna fall off soon.
