Russell is probably the one remotely close, but he even had one season that showed promise until he flamed out.

I'm pretty sure his career numbers are literally the worst ever for a QB who started 16+ games. 14 TDs, 36 INTs, 48% completion percentage. He also cussed out reporters, blamed his struggles on his teammates and has been convicted of 3 or 4 felonies.

I've just come to accept that Johnny likely won't stop partying. If there was some understood agreement that he couldn't go out and party over the weekend then yes he should be benched. If there wasn't then I still don't get what the big deal is. Big Ben was doing it all the time and only got in trouble when a chick accused him of rape.

If y'all think Johnny is gonna learn his lesson and settle down, y'all got something else coming to ya. be may never start a full season if he keeps up this pace and that's his problem, maybe one day he will look back and regret it but I guarantee you it won't be anytime soon.

Really Johnny is a modern day Stabler. He would not have survived in today's 24/7 sports media frenzy either.

What do you think they will shop Johnny around for? 5th rounder?

Not sure you could get that much at this point. The guy was handed the reigns for the rest of the season, so he flies a long way to party....doesn't sound like a starting NFL QB to me.

I sure hope so.

Conspiracy theory time! Johnny had a stellar game vs. the Steelers and was let down by the rest of the team time and time again. Another team approaches him, tells him that they want to pick him up on the cheap. All he needs to do is be seen out drinking and he'll get released and the new team will pick him up.

It's feasible, right? Right, guys?

Jeff Schudel: Off-field behavior will be key for Johnny Manziel as Cleveland Browns starting quarterback 11/17/15

"Coach Pettine came in and said he didn't want to micromanage me or any of the other guys in their time off. But at the same time, I let him know that I'm not going to do anything that's going to be a distraction to this team or be an embarrassment to the organization," Manziel said. "That was the thing he stressed to me as well.

"It (scrutiny) has been pretty constant fire since the day I got here. I'm sure it'll be amped up a little bit. But off the field, I'm not really worried about anything. I'm in a good place, and I'm going to continue to try and like I said relax. That's what a couple of these days are for not all five. I definitely won't take all five (days off), but two or three days, get a chance to shut it down."

I think that'd be best for all involved.

As for Johnny. Who knows if he gets another shot somewhere else?

And considering the way he's acted to put himself in this predicament, who the frick cares?

Dude is a walking cautionary tale

I agree he has been a royal screw-up. But you can't tell me you wouldn't want to see him in the Cowboy half-way house and image rehab program.

I may be completely wrong but I bet Jerry is waiting like a cat to pounce the minute he can.

he will absolutely get another shot elsewhere.

I miss having Roger here to balance this discussion out a bit. I got my signature after criticizing our favorite idiot.

Comparing Vince to Ryan Leaf is pretty ridiculous. Vince won Rookie of the Year and made two different pro bowls before poor decision making and Jeff Fisher (who I'm worried will do the same with Gurley) derailed his career. Russell was the #1 pick who never did anything, so he's in play, but I think Leaf is the clear number one bust.

I give Russell the edge over Leaf. He was the #1 pick. Leaf wasn't.

Need to RA mightysooner into oblivion for this quote:

That was in response to my bringing up Dvoracek, Joe Mixon, and their attempt to get DGB immediately eligible.
