I may finally become a Nega-Tiger if y'all steal Aranda from us. Just got the associate head coach title and highest paid coordinator in the NCAA last year, also most likely losing our OC, whom was also the highest paid in the NCAA...add them together...NO ONE WANTS TO WORK WITH O! What a black eye for LSU this would be. I would officially be on the fire Aleva and O bandwagon. Jimbo playing for keeps.

Lol, doubt he’s leaving. I don’t know what the $ is but we’d have to pay a huge buyout on top of a crazy salary. But hey, maybe A&M is the new Steinbrenner

It sure seems like aTm has bottomless, open wallets

This would honestly be the worst thing to happen to LSU since Curley Hallman...just what this implies is...scary

Nah, if it did happen that would surely be enough to get rid of alleva, and most of your problems would be solved.

I’m skeptical of Aranda as a DC anyway, simply because of the talent at LSU on that side of the ball. I’m sure he’s a good coach, but I imagine you could plug any number of coaches in to his position and they’d be just as successful.

If he left for a&m you and all other LSU fans would get trolled to hell, and the site might melt down, but I don’t think the on field performance would suffer with whoever replaced him.

So in some way if Aranda left, and that was the nail in the coffin for alleva, it could be a blessing in disguise.

I respect what you are saying here. And you are right to say that I don't think that Aleva et al would be able to survive this if it were to go down. But I do think you are underselling Aranda. It's not just that he is having success at LSU at the level he is, but he had very good defenses at Wisconsin as well. His football knowledge is insane. You would be getting a killer DC. This coming from a guy who could say "I told ya so" with the whole Chavis deal.

Yeah I hear ya. I’m just skeptical of a dc’s success at LSU and just assuming it would translate to a&m, given the last guy. bottom line is a&m needs to recruit like lsu, and until that happens no matter who the coach is, I think all success will be somewhat measured.

Yeah it’s really not the same and that’s why I think it doesn’t happen. I certainly trust Jimbo to know what he’s looking at more than Sumlin, and targeting aranda no matter how unlikely is a reflection of that.

This. I really think we’re watching something worth noting on the college landscape.Either massive glory and enemy tears - or flames like you can’t imagine. Happy to be in that type of conversation....
