It's just weed. There's nothing to "get together". I despise marijuana, but it's an offense that hurts no one. As long as he smokes inside his own home and doesn't drive under the influence, who cares?

Hate the CS cops - I see they are still picking on students for dumb stuff these days

Of course NFLSU immediately posts it on the rant.

Does anyone see UH's path to the final four?
15 Cleveland State
10 Rutgers
11 Syracuse
Winner of 8 Loyola Chicago & 12 Oregon State
How lucky is that?

I am celebrating a one-year anniversary today. You are invited to have a tasty adult beverage and celebrate with me!
On April 6, 2020 I had my first chemotherapy treatment for pancreatic cancer. Yeah, I know. Take a deep breath. This is why I have been mostly lurking for a while - posting would be silly. But it is not all bad news. My test results have for the most part been good, despite the recent annoying uptick:
The tumor marker blood test indicates a tumor’s activity, in other words how many cute little murderous cancer cells it is producing. The latest result is not perfect, and it will not ever be, but it is sure looking better than it did a year ago.
PET and CT Scans have been similarly encouraging. My oncologist is kicking arse.
I know one year is nothing to crow about. This monster can come back strong and kill me sooner or later - hopefully much later. But I also know the mortality stats: For all stages of pancreatic cancer (I am stage 4 because I do not like to do anything halfway), 80% die in the first year. Yet here I am,
stubbornly still alive. I am one of the 20% and consider myself very lucky. Most importantly, for the first time I feel comfortable saying "frick You, Cancer!"
frick You, Cancer!
I ask one favor from you all. While enjoying your celebratory drink, take a step outside, look up at the sky, and shout “Not TODAY!”
There is a loss of dignity with chemotherapy that is difficult to adequately describe, not that you want to hear about that anyway. But it has kept me alive, so I cannot gripe. Other positives: It turns out that my wife is my hero. I had no idea she had this in her. Again, I am very lucky. Our 3 grownup children have also made me proud with how they have handled it. SafetySam and other F-1 '79-'80 guys have kept me thinking positive, which is much appreciated. But do not tell him lest he gets an even bigger head. One other positive is I am nicer to everybody. If you disagree you can kiss my big old butt!
In other news, I am putting the finishing touches on my new diet plan book. This diet (unlike all the nonsense e-mails and text messages you get) actually works! The side effects are... well, let us not talk about the side effects.
Thanks for reading, and Gig'em!

“you can kiss my big old butt!”
It ain’t as big as it used to be pre-chemo. So there’s that.
Proud of you, to say the least.
