You can't compare a shot bar hallway to the famed Dixie Chicken.

I can accept liking Dudley's better. We'd go there just to avoid the crowd at the Chicken.

Only if you don't want to admit the Dry Bean >> the Chicken.

3rd floor rooftop of the Corner Bar was always my favorite. Before and after their renovations. Rebels was my #2 choice.

If I wanted to get hammered with the lights off was Basil Whippets (before the name change) and Logie's if I wanted to get hammered with the lights on.

Also enjoyed the Backyard on occasion and Mad Hatters on occasion. Fun fact, there's a Hatters here in DC with similar furnishings and floor tiles.

What was that one bar/concert venue that used to be Daisy Dukes? It had gone by a different name even by the time I got there and I think it has since been renamed again. It's a shame no one can seem to right that place and get more of a crowd in there.

ETA: I looked up Northgate bars for the first time in a while, it looks like a number of them have gone through name changes if not outright closed since I left (Spring of 2016)

It seems like this is the norm for most bar businesses everywhere.

is kind of the point of Northgate.

If I want a dive joint style burger I'm going to Chicken Oil Co so I don't have to deal with all the drunks.

Always started and finished at Cedar Lane/Palms. Roommates never left. Rest of the time was fighting hoards of people at Logan's.

I always really liked the beer selection at O’Bannons and always thought it was an underrated choice.

Solid pick. But when I went to NG, I wasn’t looking to sit and try some craft beers. I wanted to do saki bombs and drink giant arse beers at Logan’s (not Logies)

Was playing 42 and a couple pitchers in at the Chicken over Christmas break the week it changed. Walked up and they had just changed the last letters on the sign and had tape over their shirts with "ie's" written in pen

TD is lit right now. We are now getting "we should have picked our own cotton" threads on the OT

The Texags politics board needs to be locked for at least the near future. That place is the best negative recruiting tool imaginable right now. In the last two hours threads asking if we should have sent blacks back to Africa, why blacks have lower IQs and and why blacks stay poor have been started and one is still up. Jesus Christ.

Why stop at just the politics board?

Because that’s the one I really don’t want young prospective athletes to see right now

There’s a very strong contingent of 50-80 year olds on that board who haven’t realized that some of the conversations they had at the chicken in 1979 aren’t kosher anymore
