Brian Kelly is a better coach than Kiffin. He was 20 games over .500 and has a better resume.

As I said before, Lane is a politician first and coach second. He focuses more on his brand and playing up to fans than actually building teams that can win it all.
He probably thought in the age of NIL and the transfer portal that he wouldn't have to anymore, that he could simply buy his roster instead of actually building a team.
It's clear he has no idea what he's actually doing when it comes to running a team. He's a good OC; with a HC that can reign in his worse impulses.

Lane has done a good job with what he’s had to work with.
He hasn’t been on campus one year yet and had a decimated roster.
Without spending the cash he spent I can assure you this team would’ve been way worse and not kicked the shite out of bama on stat lines.
Next year will be a little better, year three or four will be optimal.
