Perfect example of what paying for elite players does for your team. 3 TDs so far

Kid was slow played by everyone. Joey Freshwater busted arse recruiting him and gave him his dream offer- full ride in the sec. For “loyalty”, he bolts for the shiny thing in the room. I hate what cfb is becoming.

Supposedly he hit Ole Miss up for more money and they said no because they were chasing shiny new toys and didn’t think a RB would be worth it.

Ask OM fans how that worked out for them. Their starter got hurt and Diggs never recovered from injury and didn’t play a snap for them. They struggled running the ball consistently in tough games and Dart took a pounding because he had to run it a ton to make up for it. And they missed the playoffs because of it. With Judkins, they likely win at least one of those three they lost.

Howard is an upgrade, even though McCord was better this year playing under a better OC and probably would have been good under Chip Kelly, as well. But they did want a better athlete at QB and found one.

Here’s the thing about Howard, though. Much like Gabriel at OU, he was actually pushed out at K-State because they had a good young QB they needed to promote so he wouldn’t leave. And OSU missed out on Cam Ward, so Howard wasn’t who they really wanted. But it’s worked out for them.

This is an LSU recruiting board. Why are you posting shite about an Ole Miss transfer at OSU?

And it wasn't like he was making chump change.

He was making 400k a year. Had a 2 year 800k deal.
Then they upped it and he still left.

Nah, I don't think that's true. They gave him a raise from 400k to a higher number and he kept coming back to get more. Then ole miss told him no

You hate that a profitable market has become like everything else in America? Coaching salaries skyrocketed from the first guy NOT named Saban getting 5 mill, to 10 mill coaches in the matter of a few years.

I love, love, love, how the joke was, this or that kid was taking basket weaving or whatever else as a major, and some of these kids getting into college was seen as a joke. However, as soon as they started getting paid, the rhetoric shifted to, "They shouldn't get paid. A free education is enough".

Also, stop with the loyalty crap. Every year kids are asked to leave, and that was way before they start getting paid. If Kiffin needed room, he'd kick out who he needs too.

Somebody paid him more, and he fufilled his end of the bargain by winning them a championship.

Was that fun to post that?

Do you think you made people laugh?

I’m sure I can dust off some old fart jokes for you…I’m sure you would find them hilarious

Yep. I had no interest in watching the game, first time ever for me to miss a championship game.

Its a pro sport now, the idea of "student athlete" is no more.

I know the story has been told multiple times, but here's how it played out....

Prior to the Peach Bowl, the Judkins camp (his mom being the main driver) decided that Judkins needed a new NIL deal. We agreed to it. Then, they turned right back around a couple days later, demanding even more money (even threatening to sit out the bowl game). They were told no - as they had just agreed to a new NIL deal a couple days prior.

Fast forward to the Peach Bowl. During the game, he was consistently causing problems on the field (running his mouth and not listening to plays, causing distractions, etc....) and it got to the point where Dart actually had to call a timeout and asked Lane to bench Judkins. Even during the game, the OL refused to even help him up off the ground. It had gotten bad. After the bowl game, nobody would have anything to do with him and he was pretty much having to celebrate by himself.

After the bowl game (not sure how many days), he let the staff know if his NIL demands weren't met, then he'd enter into the transfer portal (again, this was after he had already agreed to a new NIL deal). He was, again, told no. So, he entered the portal.

After entering the portal, he found out that no other school would offer a NIL deal that matched that new NIL deal that he had agreed to with Ole Miss's collective just prior to the Peach Bowl. So, his camp reached back out to Lane to see if he could return to the team. Lane met with the team leaders and they told him absolutely not, so the Judkins camp were told him returning was not a possibility.

In the end, he signed with Ohio State for less money.

The kid is a great talent, but his family getting into his head and looking at him as a cash cow have really screwed with him.

He hit Ole Miss up for money 3 times, threatening to sit 4 games into the 2023 season and then sit the bowl game if he didn't get paid. Ole Miss agreed to pay him more both times. Then when Dart got paid more after the bowl game, they came back demanding to get paid even more. This was when Ole Miss cut ties. Had nothing to do with chasing shiny new toys on Ole Miss' part. He reached back out to Ole Miss after hitting the portal when he realized no one was gonna pay him what he wanted and Ole Miss said no. He took a paycut instead and went to OSU.

He won a natty so good for him but he'd rather have the money.

Simple, because it's relevant to LSU as an example of potential affects getting top players in this portal class can have on a team making it to a NC

I haven't heard anything negative about him at OSU at all. Maybe he needed a new environment after all that stuff. I'm sure he made enough cash to be fine at OSU and it should keep his draft stock pretty high assuming he leaves for the NFL
